Hogan/Bischoff actually isn't in charge of creative for TNA. Hogan has say about his character, but at this time Russo is still the man.

"PWInsider sources have noted that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are not taking over the creative reigns of the company, despite what has been claimed elsewhere. It’s more than likely Hogan will have creative control over how he is used, but Vince Russo, Ed Ferrara, etc. are not being replaced.

Obviously, Hogan is going to have some influence. He has suggestions of talents he’d like to see brought into the company but there are no wrestlers or personalities 100% set yet and there is no one that TNA is required to use as part of the Hogan-Bischoff deal."

worried
Just incase, I'll keep ahold of my cynisism for now, thank you very much. To quote Hogan's close friend Bubba the Love Sponge the day before this article, "He [Hogan] is the Booker. Period. Saw it in his contract. Terry and Eric won't make the same mistakes that they made at WCW". Hogan also came onto Bubba's talkshow on the day of the article and restated it (apparently).

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Alot of the negativity stems from things that Hogan did over 10 years ago. When he was burying people in WCW, at least he could make it vaguely believable at his age. He is now - I will reterate - fifty freaking six. I am willing to hold out the hope that he recognises himself as a man past his prime, and that he does (as he claimed in one of his recent interviews) give back to the business by helping younger stars. However, only time will tell.

Oh, and Russo as booker? That may change. Not only is Hogan now around, but Daniels, Joe, Kaz, even AJ have all been getting pretty pissed off by him and his descisions recently. Between a rock and a hard place he is, hmmmm?

I only see good things coming from this. Hogan has now attached his name to TNA so it is in his best interest to see TNA succeed. He even guaranteed TNA would become the number one promotion, so he is truly putting it all on the line.

It's a war baby, and it is about to begin!

i think it would be kinda cool to have a feud between the two companies tna and wwe i think that would bring huge ratings to both shows and bring alot of attention to both companies as well

Who likes updates?

Hulk Hogan posted:
When I woke up and realized I should be my own man and be responsible for being happy, I realized I still have a lot to contribute to the wrestling business. And jumping into TNA and being a part of that company is huge. I have a chance to give back and help these young wrestlers who don't understand the business and the art form.

Wow. Hogan is...adressing the main fear surrounding his signing first hand! Sure, the 'Who don't understand the business' makes him sound like a condescending douche, but hearing the key word 'help' come from the horses mouth is an extraordinary relief. applause

Hulk Hogan posted:
The business moves so much faster now. It used to be if Andre the Giant and I had a feud, it'd probably play out six or seven months later at a big event. Nowadays, if Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan have a feud at 9 o'clock, it's usually over by 9:30. It's a story-telling art form to create emotion and drama and I just think a lot of that is lost.

Now, I have recently come to the realisation that storylines in wrestling are utter bunk. I believe that that Vince MacMaon's tendency to distract from his shows action (seeing as it is non-existant) in favour of the drama is the reason behind mainstream wresting's poor modern state. Watch the South Park episode I recently(-ish) posted to see exactly what I mean. Having said that, he has ingrained 'Story good, Violence bad' into the minds of the public so effectively that this can only be a good thing. If Hogan gives TNA afew feuds worthy of the world's finest soap opera, the brainwashed masses are sure to flock in like sheep, and - with ay luck - understand wrestling for what it should be: TOTAL NONSTOP ACTON!!! angry
When that day comes, the WWE, for all of its pathos, its melodrama, and its 'strong characterisation', will be proper f*cked.

Hulk Hogan posted:
The reason I decided to get back into it is because I’m ready to flip this business over again. It’s getting real boring with only one company stuffing this programming down your throat and not allowing fans and the wrestlers the chance to make a choice, and I think it’s really important to be able to make that choice instead of just having one option and one option only.

The man is saying what the entire fan community is thinking. Maybe he is not as clueless as the critics say he is... thinking
Hulk Hogan has just majorly invested in a company that, for all of its plus points, isn't too popular. His own money, image and reputation are on the line here, so I don't necessarily see him destroying everything in sight, as too many insist. I'm becoming more and more optimistic...

Someone who is not Hulk Hogan, but who is talking about Hulk Hogan posted:
During a radio interview with Bubba The Love Sponge this morning, Hulk Hogan mentioned he wanted to know how serious Bubba was about a role on TNA creative alongside him.

Well, the man's always droning on about what TNA could do to improve. Optimism growing.

Same as above posted:
As possible names that could join him in TNA, he also touted Steve Austin,...

An undeniaby-popular icon. That would bring the casual Attitude Era fans streaming in. Optimism rising!

Same as above posted:
...Randy Savage,...

Long term, TNA is big on Jay Lethal. the original Macho Man can elevate him in so many ways, and could act as a catalyst for Jay to get rid of his own homage-paying gimmick, that so many (myself not incuded) despise. Optimism reaching critical levels!!

Same as aboWAIT WHAT?!?! posted:
and The Nasty Boys.

And so it begins.

Wow,a lot of ex WWE talent is going to TNA.

Kurt Angle, Booker T, Bobby Lashley, Billy Gunn; Rikishi, Mick Foley, now Hulk Hogan?

Wow, who could be be next? The Rock, Stone Cold, Bret Hart, Ultimate Warrior; RVD.

WWE is starting to get on my nerves now about the PG rating. If that don't consider a revolution, I might have to get a way from a show I watched since the longest, to TNA now. (Though Maybe, they are just trying to get more fans)
