It's official, it's on TNA's site.

www.tnawrestling.com

Expect this week's iMPACT to be the highest rated iMPACT ever. Also as a side note Eric Bischoff was key in making this signing happening and will be working alongside TNA in getting them more shows, perhaps even creative writing. This is what pushes TNA forward. Vince can finally admit, TNA is becoming a threat.

I agree with the both of you, coz not only is TNA going to have the highest ratings this week that TNA has ever had, but it will probably have more ratings than what WWE's RAW, SMACKDOWN and ECW shows put together IMO.

As someone who has only been a committed wrasslin' fan for - what - a year, I am hardly overwhelmed by a man who's popularity peaked in the 80's. Besides, any optimistic thoughts of "Crap, this is a big deal, isn't it?", have instantly been balanced out by a deep-rooted anger incited by liberal amounts of brain-dead WWE fan-kiddy horsesh*t from the IGN comments section: the place where I read this story (on the front page no less) a mere 5 minutes ago.

Hogan said a month back that he'd like to do a programme against a face Kurt Angle in TNA. I'm absolutely fine with that. If he spends his time in TNA feuding with other wrestling icons, possibly over the Legends Championship (a division based around the veterans is what that belt's primarily for, after all), then I'll be happy...as well as extraordinarily relieved.

But consider the following. This is a man famous for being a Huge, Spotlight-Hogging Moth. This is a senior citizen whose 56 years of existance make him one of the only active main-streamers older than Sting. This is a guy who refused to job to someone as old and as over as Shawn Michaels circa-2005, let alone to up-and-comers. This is a figure that has previously requested that Kevin Sullivan - the real murderer of WCW - be added to the TNA booking team were he to ever sign up. What's more, this is a legened who lacks the spectacular personality of a Belt-Totting Mick Foley.

I'm not trying to needlessly rain on any parades, but I swear, if a person with such qualities gets a World Title run - despite all of the stellar work that TNA has recently done in giving young talent their respective dues - then...then...you know what? I cannot think of a humorous analogy that could effectively represent the mixture of rage, distgust and despair.

Anyone willing to start a campaign with me over this? I'll be hugely contented if I can get every TNA fan on the Midway board to write an e-mail along the lines of "I'd rather eat glass than see Hulk Hogan Main Event squat".

Speaking of the iMPACT Zone. I believe this could lead to a new venue for iMPACT tapings or even traveling iMPACTs. This is going to change the landscape of TNA the company. I fully expect there to be another TNA show, a Monday Night show, in 2010.

plain
...
I'm sorry: I realise that I'm an overly paranoid person, but IS NOBODY ELSE THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED BY THIS! I'm all for optimism, especially in the face of TNA's recent direction, but this is the ultimate forbidden fruit that our beloved company is being presented with! Not only is it unbelievably tempting for TNA to give Hogan of-all-people the big gold belt and throw all of their hard work to the wind, but if that happens, it could be the final blow! The sign of the apocolypse! It could actually lead to that dark pit of bankrupcy that too many have been banging on about for so very very long!

*sigh* I get it. Maybe it's just general opinion getting to me; and I'm in a particularly fatigued state at the moment as it is. I'll abandon the doomsday rants until I see where Dixie's going with this.

With that in mind -
Concerning Flair:
PWMania.com posted:
According to sources, Ric Flair could be headed to TNA Wrestling some time in the future, as part of the Hulk Hogan/Eric Bischoff deal.

Apparently Flair signed a long-term contract (rumored to be a three-year deal) when he signed on for the "Hulkamania Tour" in Australia. The deal states that Flair is essentially tied in with Hogan in any projects he would take on (reality show, etc).

Whether or not Flair will come to TNA with Hogan and Bischoff is no guarantee at this point, but according to reports, seems likely. Flair had never wanted to cross that line in the past with Vince McMahon, but all indications are that Flair will eventually end up in TNA alongside Hogan, as the two will be headlining all the major shows on the Hulkamania tour against each other.

Wouldn't it be funny if this is just one big ploy to ensnare Nature Boy? TNA wanted him to join the 'Sting Retirement Tour' afew weeks ago, but there were fears that he would decline, due to WWE loyalties. I would quite legitaitely LOL if the Hogan Deal was a huge conspiracy, seeing as he's now basically obligated to do the programme.

Also:
PWMania.com posted:
Another quick note. While details are very sketchy still, we're told that there are a number of major stories still to come. As one source put it, Hogan and Bischoff signing with TNA is merely the tip of the iceberg. Apparently there are some announcements to follow (that are purposely being held off as to layer the big news across a little span of time as opposed to dumping it all out at once) that are as big, if not bigger, than Hogan and Bischoff signing with TNA.

Well, how's that for...Something something? Possibilities include a second show, the new PPV schedule, that long-awaited TNA thing that this entire board is dedicated to, the debut of a not-as-of-yet-brainwashed-by-McMahon Bryan Danielson, or - even better - the debut of Beef Wellington.
Seriously. When I see an Ass Punch performed on iMPACT, I'll be able to die happier.

Oh, and reading around, it appears as though Hogan will be doing very little wresting. Mainly a TV character. I'm not holding my breath, as that's how Foley started out, but it's enough to make me begrudgingly recall the ranting. frustrated

I figure two more signings RVD and Ken Kennedy. Maybe a 2nd show. Good and Bad weighed BlackLesnar this Hogan thing makes TNA a much bigger, more respected company.

This is exactly what TNA needed. TNA's biggest problem has nothing to do with what you see on TV, it is that people aren't seeing it. TNA simply doesn't even show up on the radar. The amount of times someone like Angle or Nash will get spotted at an airport and asked when will they ever wrestle again is really unsettling. But now, the time has finally come for TNA to shine!

There is somebody else who seriously wants to join TNA. His name is Bret Hart. He has said that he wants to come back and want to wrestle people like "KURT ANGLE" and "AJ STYLES" before they retire.

Isn't that the most awesomest thing. And BlackLesnar, we can bring beef willington to TNA. We got to do is get about 1000 or 100 people to email 10 times to info@tnawrestling.com saying to sign beef to TNA. That would get recognized for sure.

The future of employees such as Vince Russo, Ed Ferrara and others within management have yet to be determined. At this point, they will remain with the company on a trial basis depending on how well they work with Hogan. In short, there is a chance that Hogan's signing might cause Russo to lose his job within TNA.

PWMania.com posted:
According to Mark Madden, TNA will be adding a second weekly show to their television schedule. When, you ask? Monday nights from 8-10PM ET. head-to-head with WWE's RAW. While the timeframe isn't confirmed, we can report exclusively that a second show on Monday's from 8-10PM ET is in the plans.

PWMania.com posted:
I spoke to a source within TNA this morning that has exclusively informed PWMania that Hulk Hogan is in complete creative control of TNA at the moment. His reach in the company even goes beyond Dixie Carter, and at this point the only person Hogan is answering to is Carter's father.

Some people say TNA could become the next WCW after this decision. I dont think so. When MEM started they said the same statement. And because of MEM people like AJ, Matt Morgan, BMI, World Elite, Samoa Joe, Daniels, Hernandez and others got a huge push to be in the main event status. This could result in a reform of MEM. That would push other wrestlers again. I see Desmond Wolf taking over WE and giving the boot to EY. Then MEM and WE gets together with Rhino and other new faces and this time Its going to be bigger then the old MEM. This will push the names as Hulk Hogan is now in TNA. And AJ and others could be known to more audiences and they could gain more fans. Thats just my opinion.

I can see the good and bad in this.

The good: TNA will now be on the tip of everyone's tongue. Millions of wresting fans may not even know about TNA, but will now. With Names such as hogan, lashly, foley, steiner, sting, and all the young guys like aj, morgan, daniels, joe, and everyone else...people will take notice that TNA is better than WWE. Hogan is a business man and he will make sure that TNA isn't a failure. Look where he took WCW. The problem with WCW was that it was backed by Ted Turner, he made WCW a show on his network. TNA like WWE was a wrestling company first, then was given to a network. That is where the big difference between tna and wcw is. Dixie carter is a smart woman and she runs the table. We've already heard that Hulk may not even wrestle in TNA and may just be on-air talent. That would be a good thing. NO matter if you hate hulk or love him, he is the most followed wrestler out there hands down. He has more loyal fans himself that TNA probably has viewers at the moment, unfortunately, but that will change, and once Hulk is gone, TNA will still be going strong. TNA is not WWE competition...it's nothing like WWE, it has better wrestlers, better storylines, better moves, and better pushes, and with Hulk being in TNA, people will realize this way sooner than later. What hulk needs to do with eric bishoff is too POLISH TNA. The production needs to be better, like some have said, the announcers need to be on the same page sometimes, the wrestling needs to be more polished especially during pay per views..bfg had way to many boches(abyss vs foley). Once these small things get taken care of..TNA won't be WWE'scompetitor..WWE will be TNA's competitor..

the bad: As long as they keep hulk hogan/bishoff in check there won't be a bad side. We know that hulk cost a pretty penny, at least a million dollars, but at the same time spike most likely forked up some of that money. I've heard that spike is gonna do a reality show with hulk/flair to find the next hogan/flair wrestler. That's a show that will give spike ratings, hell Hulks celebrity wrestling brought ratings so I'm sure this will too. Plus his company will bring in wrestlers most likely too and Hulk/Bishoff will be kinda like agents too, then again, making money for their cause. So all in all, as long as he's kept in check and they don't give him total control, things will be good. If for some reason they do though..I do agree that things may go down hill..only time will tell. Lets hope for the best though!

Hogan/Bischoff actually isn't in charge of creative for TNA. Hogan has say about his character, but at this time Russo is still the man.

"PWInsider sources have noted that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are not taking over the creative reigns of the company, despite what has been claimed elsewhere. It’s more than likely Hogan will have creative control over how he is used, but Vince Russo, Ed Ferrara, etc. are not being replaced.

Obviously, Hogan is going to have some influence. He has suggestions of talents he’d like to see brought into the company but there are no wrestlers or personalities 100% set yet and there is no one that TNA is required to use as part of the Hogan-Bischoff deal."
