Was fine (kind of) on XP Pro, but just upgraded to a highend machine and cant get it to run (patches installed).
Symptoms:
1) launch game, black screen for couple minutes. Eventually ESRB Game Play screen appears. Anothe rminute goes by, the red Unreal logo comes in in stills, about 3 minutes in between each still of the animation. 1o minutes later, still going thru Unreal animation one frame per minute
2) I bail
System:
New Dell XPS 720
Quad Core 6600
4 GB RAM
Nvidia GF 8800 GS (512 RAM).
None of the suggestions in forum have worked thus far. Pretty disgruntled, esp. after I could never get Stranglehold to work right (saves would never hold!)
I have given Midway $100 now - for nothing.

If you are running Windows Vista please be sure that everything in Windows Vista is brought up to date through the Windows Update Feature.
Since you have a 512mb video card, its very possible that Windows is handling the memory allocation of this card incorrectly. In Windows Vista, it handles memory differently, and each card acts as a shared memory card, regardless of Turbo Cache, Hypermemory Status. or not. Improper handling can lead to blue screens, crashes and other unstable behavior.
Microsoft has released a technical document and a patch to change the archetecture of this behavior so it stablizes more on higher end video cards with more memory.
