Hi, running top spec PC with Vista.
Just installed Blacksite 51 ok but game hangs after about 10 mins between checkpoints and cant get past. Cant install patches as get 'old file' errors as i see others do.
Not seeing anything from midway which is really poor !
Will persevere some more but yet another unhappy gamer !

your damm lucky to get that far
bought the game this morning installed it
and all i get is the startup screen
and audio going wonky
using xp pro
1 gig memory
sata games drive free space 700gig
and a bfg 8800gts g card
i think this game is just a rip off

Vista is not a gaming platform.
No one recommends it for gaming but Microsoft and its partners.
On an Xp sp2 Build I was able to barely make it through the game Stuttering all the way with sound acceleration set to basic x.x.

still further than i got on xp and my pc meets more than the spec to play this game

I have a idea......Midway could buy all the games back then sell them to a third world country for twice the price. You mine as well sell it to people with no computer cause the ones that do cant play either.

yeh man i downloaded the 1.1 and 1.2 patches and when i tried to run them its failing not reconising my instalation piss poor this
qiute right everyone should ask for there money back for this game
if matter not rectified soon
i dont think i will ever buy another midway game ever again
i think us punters here that we have all been ripped off
and iam damm sure iam not gonna call there premium rats number either

Whoa there fella,we'll have no criticising Midway or Blacksite or you'll get your posts deleted.
Much like the dozens of people who posted over the weekend have had their complaints swept aside by the moderators.
Simply put, the game was not fit for release and was rushed out before it was finished. Do yourself a favour and take it back and trade it in for something more useful i.e a game that actually works.

would normaly send back but i was looking forward to this game i had it preordered months before release
its very frustrating you have to admit that
when you buy sommit and its now working properly
and i loved original game

I had this problem.
However, i got round it by taking the game back and trading it in for Crysis.
I also had the menu stuttering.
I also had the problem that the game has with Soundblaster cards, so to even get it to work i had to disable my sound card.
Then i could,if i wanted, play in silence.
That did'nt appeal to me so i reverted to the Crysis solution.
I feel for you, after waiting so long for this release, only to discover you should really have still been waiting for it.

cheers mate i will persavere a bit to see if they come out with some fixes that work 1.1 and 1.2 pach failed for me when i tried to update

So Yo, I got my game from walmart, you think if i took it back they would do an exchange? I mean there are obivious problems here right?
I was orignaly going to get CoD4 but they were out. Cyrsis? i here its good.

COD is great, single player is way too short though !
When found that Blacksite 51 was crap bought Crysis, which is also great...better than Far Cry, obviously !
Ive returned Blacksite 51 to play.com for full refund no problems as I have no faith in Midway to respond let alone fix these issues.
As an aside, I was surprised to find 2 DVDs with Blacksite but even more surprised to find a load of PS3, XBOX 360 folders on the PC DVDs....not sure why ??
Any hooo....off to play Crysis as finished COD4.

My work around
I disabled my sound card a (Realtek onboard) in my computer > Device manager
Started the game.
Played past the first checkpoint (hard to do without sound)
Exited the game
enabled the sound card
Now when I launch the game I can get to the menu hit enter fast 2 or 3 times and resume with sound from where I left off. Or just keep hitting enter until the level loads
Still huge waste of money when the sound is a major defect. This is not just unique to Sound Blasters. With the sound disabled the game ran 100% smoother so they definately have some issues with the dll they used. I loved Area 51 ran great makes me wonder what they changed to push this out fast...
