[Moved from Stranglehold to Tech Issues]

I'm talking because I took the game from my friend that has only a single core AMD 64bit CPU while I have X2 AMD CPU, and the rest is the same. I have Lost Planet, which plays perfectly on my rig, and on his even with single core. But Capcom said that 7300 couldn't push the game????? yeah it pushes the game extremely good on almost everything high, and on native 1440x900, but without HDR. So info was a fake from Capcom. So he bought this game in hope that will work.
My Rig:
X2@4400+
1 Gig 667 VR Kingston
NV7300GT@256DDR2 with one extrapipeline unlocked (don't ask me how but i did it).

First of all Ati1300 is similar to NV7300. So how come 7800 is minimum for nVidia???? Maybe because Ati is on X360????
RAM on X360 is 512 shared, so why do we need 2 Gigs for PC??? Is game not using swap file, just fills the RAM.
And yeah, for porting....why every game company has to directly port the game, without any custom graphic modification: high, mid, low???
Will there be any fix in the future for this game. And is it true that you need 50 gigs free to properly install the game which actually takes around 15 Gigs of space????
Game problems:
First, Intro goes well, Menu goes well, put on native 1440x900, then when I pushed new game/casual, loading screen just sood there and nothing......nothing for half an hour. Reboot. Tried on 640x480, pushed new game/casual.....then shit....my monitor went offline....then tried to search for input analog/digital......another reboot.
So what is going on, on loading screen???

I'll take a shot at answering your questions to the best of my ability and understanding:

Possibly, but there is still a very large performance delta between the x1300 and 7800 series. From what I've read, the x1300 can't really play Stranglehold properly on anything but the lowest graphical settings. This was stated in the Stranglehold review on YouGamers:

Yes, the game starts on an ATI Radeon X1300, but with the frame rate dipping to single digits at 1024x768, it just isn't playable unless you fancy playing at 640x480.

That's what it looks like. Like others here, I've tested the game on one of my machines using 1GB and 2GB RAM configurations. With 2GB, the game runs fine and remains stable. With 1GB, the game black screen crashes after 10 minutes or so. Looking at Task Manager, it appears that the Stranglehold process can eat up 800-900MB of memory on its own depending on what's specifically happening in-game. Some people can apparently get away with only 1GB of RAM though.

Probably to get the PC version of the game out at the same time as the Xbox 360 version.

Patches are never guaranteed for PC games, so I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for one. The Direct2Drive version apparently needs up to 50GB of free disk space to initially install. Some of this is the installer files of the game itself (which come on two double layered DVD's at retail), temporary space required to install the game, and then the game directory itself where the files are physically installed to. I'm sure you can delete the temp folder and game installer files once the installation has completed though.

The issue is probably the 1GB of RAM on your system. You can try tweaking your configuration to free up more memory (ie; closing background programs, disabling unnecessary startup processes, etc.), but more than likely an upgrade to 2GB of RAM will be required to fix the problem. Your issue sounds very similar to what I see when I tried to run the game with only 1GB RAM.

Your crashes are due to the lack of ram. I had one gig, and had the same crashes, until i put in another gig i had in another box. This fixed the problem entirely (although i still have my resolution problem, which i detailed in another thread), and the game plays fine now. I don't know about your 7300 however, this also could be a reason for the crashes, but i know the ram causes it for sure.

Yeah needed 2 Gigs of RAM (bought one more), and that's total bullsh.t. Works OK with 7300 on 1440x900, just sometimes some textures disappear....but will not use latest drivers because I have BSOD with newer drivers, nVidia said to stick until some final release, because OEM drivers are the best written drivers for the card.
