Can´t install Stranglehold

Hi,
when I want install Stranglehold this error text comes at 70%:
Feature transfer Error
Feature:New Feature 1
Component:
File:
Error: Schwieriger Fehler(big or serious mistake)
How can I install the game?
Iam German sorry for typing mistakes!

Catastrophic failure... I've only seen that once in my 11 year software development career. We were attempting to install mail server software on an older machine with a well-worn Windows install and about half-way in the installer went south with that error. If I recall, a reformat/reinstall of Windows finally got us over the hurdle.
Some things you'll want to look at beforehand though:
1. Disable any anti-virus, anti-spyware, or anti-adware software that you use before installing. In general, anything that uses "real-time file scanning" should be disabled or shut down / closed outright.
2. Affirm that you are running the installer using an administrator level account that has full permissions on the drive you're attempting to install to.
3. Make sure you have the latest version of the Windows installer software. I believe the latest is version 3.1. A google search will provide you a download link.
4. If you have any disk mounting or imagine tools (such as Daemon tools) installed, you'll probably want to disable them or uninstall them outright.
Failing that, a reformat/reinstall of Windows is probably the way to go.

EDIT : I've just flashed the firmware on the drive from MS0F to MS0R (the lastest available from Lite-On's european site) and the problem has been resolved and the game is currently installing.
I'm in a similar situation where I cannot install Stranglehold on my PC. But it's simply that my DVD drive does not recognise the discs - both discs sit there going "click click click click". These are the first discs to ever show a problem in my drive.
The drive, if anybody from Midway is reading this, is a Lite-On DVD-RW SHM-165P6S (a DVD dual-layer capable writer drive).
Both discs appear to be free of marks and I've only taken them out of the case today after buying the game in a local games shop.

First off. You REALLY NEED TO CHECK THAT YOUR COMPUTER MEETS ALL REQUIREMENTS. programs, games, etc. work only if the requirments are met. also note that in some cases this isn't true though because certain upgrades and software are NOT supported and then the game won't work EVEN IF the unsupported software meets the requirements except for the supported software and programs. come back and tell me if it works.

Although these faliure issues are unknown in cause, google may be able to help you in similar ways as I have found.

It seems all software has the potential to exhibit this behavior.
Its probably caused by the drive not achieving a proper data transfer speed.
