OK. I have no troubles installing or playing the game at all, far from it. My bug it that the autosave feature....well...doesn't autosave.

I played up to the end of level 2 (the drug labs) and then quit for some lunch and when I came back to my game I was greeted with "No Save Data Found" when I pressed Continue.

I have tried re-installing it several times to different drives of my PC, playing with the ini files which lead to crashes, looking through the ini to see what directories should be saved to with no success and emailed midway support which from reading other posts was a waste of time.

If I use my points to buy something from the unlock bar it will say "Now Saving" and that will not dissapear until I exit and loose all the data I just worked so hard for.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem at all and if so have they found a fix?

my best guess (aside from a coding glitch) is... do you have the proper "rights" on the PC?

Well as it's my PC not only in the sense that I'm the only one who uses it but also in the sense that I built it myself, I think you can say I have full rights as admin.

I've recently found that Stranglehold did not create a save directory in My Documents. After making one myself and creating the "Checkpoints" folder in there, it has created a .DAT file. Although I'm guessing it doesn't save your progress in the game till you complete a level so I'll wait till I'm back from work tonight to play the first level through again.

Are there any other folders in the Stranglehold folder in My Documents that I should create for other files?

Ive got a Core2Duo E6600, 2GB of corsair, a leadtech 8800GTX
It doesn't save progression, graphic option and keyboard configuration.

I was having the exact same issue as you, and trying what bdav posted didn't work. However what did work was making a new administrator account and logging in as that to play the game. My guess is that your "My Documents" folder isn't in it's default place (c:\documents and settings\username\my documents), but instead you've set my documents to a different folder on you computer, because that's what I've done and it seems to be what was causing the issue.

I'm having the same problem. In my case I have manually moved "My Documents" to the E:\ drive.

Please explain step by step how to correct this.
