System requirements revealed:
1.5GHZ cpu, 256MB of Ram, 64MB of VRAM GeForce 3/Ati 8500 and 3GB of space. That ain't bad at all.

The game will require a dual core and 8800gts or gtx for maximum resolution/details. No surprise, because it looks like its crappy ported.

the same requirements are on the german pre-salebox (45 minutes making of + hard boiled)
but i think they are way too low. i dont think you can play the game with this. maybe install and start... but not more.

OR those could be the actual requirements. I'm pretty sure I read a quote somewhere that said that the dev team was trying to make it so that it could also run on lower end systems. Sure it won't be as pretty as those that have the godlike specs we were originally told, but I for one am hoping that this new news is the real deal.

So there is no confusion, here are the system requirements as they are stated directly on the North America retail box for Stranglehold. Considering the same game is being released worldwide, I doubt that they're any different in other territories.
After the promtional graphics and text on the back of the case, system specific information reads as follows:
Enhanced for:
[dual-core] [online multiplayer 2-6]
Recommended System Requirements
[OS: Windows Vista/XP - SP2]
[processor: AMD Dual Core CPU]
[memory: 2 GB RAM, 15 GB free hard drive space]
[video card: ATI x1300 or higher, Nvidia 7800 or higher]
Increased performance will be noticed on more powerful systems.
So according to the box, there really aren't any
minimum system requirements for this game which is really strange. I also find an x1300 and 7800 being listed in the same class of performance equally confusing. In any case, the game runs pretty well on the following system:
ASUS P4SD-LA Motherboard (800Mhz FSB, i865, AGP8X)
Pentium 4 (Prescott) 3.0Ghz w/ Hyperthreading
2GB (4x512MB) PC-3200 RAM
BFG GeForce 7800GS 256MB (480Mhz Core / 1380Mhz Mem)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Windows XP SP2
It runs excellent on:
ASUS P5N-E SLI (1066Mhz FSB, 650i, PCI-Express x16)
Intel Core2Quad q6600 2.4Ghz
4GB (4x1GB) PC2-6400 RAM
eVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB (500Mhz Core / 1600Mhz Mem)

I was playing Psi Ops the other night, and I thought "wow, I would have been happy to play Stranglehold in a modified version of this engine." But nooo, they had to make it so you need a super computer to run it. WAAAY too high requirements.
*sigh* I guess that's what console gaming is for. You KNOW it's going to run on your system and there are less bugs.

well...i bought 1gb of ram today and the demo run perfectly..
my specs:
pentium D 3.4
ASUS nvidia 7600GT
2gb of ram
its impossible to run this game with 1gb...i mean , the process is 600mb of memory....wtf?

I'm not sure what in-game settings you're using, but on my system I've seen the memory allocation for the Stranglehold process spike to around 800 - 900 MB at certain times. To me, it would seem very difficult to play the game with 1GB RAM, even on a clean system. 1.25 or 1.5GB may be doable though, depending on in-game graphical settings, what other background processes are running, etc.

Funney story.
I pre-ordered from GAME in the UK ... didnt really bolther about min specs
when the box arrives i look and min specs and panic that i suddenly need a PC upgrade.
my specs:
Sample from my Dxdiag.txt
Operating System: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.1GHz
Card name: Radeon X1600 Series
Memory: 2048MB RAM DDR400 , Display Memory: 512.0 MB
so i install it anyway and try to run the game
to my amazement, it runs and i have no problems even though my CPU is less than min spec , and ram is just there.
