Yes, they sound too low but it would not be the first time that the official minimal requirements are too low.

256MB RAM?! I can't see the game running on that unless you'll be able to turn off Massive D completely (and of course lower graphics quality A LOT). Heck 256MB is what you had to have for Max Payne 2.
Oh well, we'll just have to wait for the official requirements to be sure what this game requires.

Those 256 RAM wouldnt be strange. The XBOX 360 has 512 and it runs the game on "high".

except for the fact that the XBox 360 is "optimized" differently than PCs. it can get away with less ram if it processes everything differently.
of course, there's the probability that "high" on the XBox 360 might not be high on the PC, since PCs supports higher resolutions.

Any updates on the requirements Echo ? If I can play the demo of Bioshock on high performance, I must be able to play Stranglehold on high performance right ?

I would certainly hope so. Something would be wrong with the port of Stranglehold if you couldn't IMO.

you are assuming the two games are equal.
they aren't made by the same developement company, let alone same team. so therefore not all "optimizations" by one company would be known to the other. not only that, but who knows what else would be included/excluded regarding the "port" of the game.
if you're lucky, it'll play better and arguably look better... if not... well... let's not go there.
hey, we're only 6 days alway from the release date... if the game makes it on time, we'll only have 6 days to wait to find out.

I'm not assuming that the games are the same, I only thought that the system requirements of Bioshock where way higher than Stranglehold even if they both run on the Unreal Engine.

I don't believe in a pc version for this game anymore. No screenshots/trailers no info, it smells a little like duke nukem forever.

alright folks... if you want to use Bioshock as a reference... i'm holding the unopened box in my hands (i'm gonna return it in a few days).
ON THE BIOSHOCK BOX (shortened):
XP (w/SP2)/Vista
minimum:
Internet required for activation *** more on this later ***
P4 2.4 GHz single core processor
1 GB ram
DX 9.0c video card w/128 MB (nvidia 6600/ATI x1300 or better, excluding x1550) (excluding?!?)
DX 9.0c compatible sound card
8 GB hdd
recommended:
Intel Core 2 Duo (yes, it says "Intel Core 2 duo")
2 GB ram
for DX9 - DX 9.0c compliant w/512 MB (nvidia 7900 GT or better)
for DX10 - nvidia 8600 or better
...blah blah X-Fi blah blah, whatever, doesn't matter anymore.
it mentions "Important Note: Game requires Internet connection for activation" at the end also.
so... if you have a system that is at/above the recommended... then you should be decent... i would suppose.
anyway... take that however you like... at this point, i'll mention what that internet connection is about... apparently, they limit you to TWO activations... when you install it, it connects to 2k games, passes something... and then allows you to proceed, IF you haven't passed the 2 activation limit. if you are reformatting your system, you MUST uninstall the game first (to "reclaim" one activation)... otherwise, you just lost one of the two. if you "lose" the second activation... you have to contact 2k games for future installs (at least the next one, if they reset the 2 count).
i'm not dissing the game... i don't really care about the 2 count, i would've most likely uninstall before reformatting anyway (gives me a better idea of just what is using up my hdd space just prior to reformat). if you have problems with it... then, now you know... make your purchasing decision on that. i'm returning it to avoid spending too much $$$ since i plan on buying Stranglehold and maybe UT3.

Lol recommend is a 8600 or higher, I have a 7900 gtx and I can run the game perfect. So I don't have any doubts about Stranglehold.
