I noticed something... was wondering if anyone else noticed. On MAT3, I get sound AND MUSIC, but on MAT2, I only get Sound.
However, when I insert the disc to play MAT3, the copy protection check DOES NOT occur, but when I insert the disc to play MAT2, it checks...
Could this copy protection thing be causing the problem with the music?
Just a thought...

maybe. i had some problems with a ligitech camera (dont ask) and whenever i tried to turn off my computer it would just reboot it. so the copy protection could be interfering with the sound

No , from what I heard each of the audio files are a seperate WMA file.
Its funny because on mine , it checks MAT 2 just once , and then I can select as many games as I want to. However on MAT 3 , The CD checks itself every time a game is selected from the main menu.
MIDWAY , I really hope your making every effort possible to look into these issues and fix them. It looks like you guys were a step in the right direction but came up short.

I actually have not checked the MAT2 CD yet, but are these WMA files actually ABSENT, or are they there but not accessible?
I also noticed that on MAT3, the menu seems to check the CD each time I choose a game before actually launching it. You can actually hear the music of each game.
However, as you mentioned, on MAT2, once the menua appears, scrolling through the menu does not produce any specific music for each game.
Hopefully, Midway will address this problem sooooon.

This could be easily fixed in a patch that contains the missing audio files in wma format , Im guessing they just need to be placed in the respective folder for each game. This is easy for a broadband user. However. Dialup users may become frustrated.

Nope , 0 about it. Im beginning to think that this is a lost cause.
But im not giving up hope yet. I can also get Gamepro Magazine and Game Informer to nudge them a bit too ya know

I looked through the wma files in the MAT2 install path and the music files do seem to be completely missing. I didn't check the cab files on the disks though.
Just another person hoping for a patch to put the sounds back in as it really destroys the atmosphere of the various games not to have them.
This is such a great compilation to be messed up by such a silly problem.
A lot of people talk about glitches and stuff like that, but other than the music missing in MAT2 games, all the games seem to run flawlessly for me. And I mean like butter, without any graphical glitches....guess I'm just lucky there.
Quick PC Specs:
Abit KV7 motherboard
AMD AthlonXP 3200
Radeon 9800pro (Catalyst 6.2 drivers)
512megs PC3200 RAM
SB Audigy1 w/firewire
DSL ISP 1.5mbps
Logitech RumblePad 2
Fully updated, no overclocking.
MAT 2 & 3 are the only games installed at this point since I recently reformatted the PC.

Super Off Road doesnt work properly for me , the audio is all garbled. Sometimes the menu has a mind of its own.
Btw , Rush the Rock is supposed to emulate everything from the arcade on the PC, That includes the video of the the woman in the leather jacket with a helmet on , taking her helmet off and smiling towards the player.
Also other FMVs were there as well , even the reference to 3DFX was there.
But sometimes those FMV Videos dont play at all.
Have you noticed how fast the framerate is in specific parts of Rush the Rock?
Is it just me or is Stun Runner extremely fast.
It seems like they improperly protected their aplication with Starforce.

The files for the music seem to be entirely missing. At least, I haven't found them. Only the sound effects. The sound effects are in WMA format and can be played in WMP. I imagine the music would be too, if it was there.

I just picked up the mat today for my pc and was so happy to see mk1 on it as it was suppost to be on the ps2 version but wasn't, and then i play and no music on the games for mat2. I traded in my ps2 copy so i would have mk 1-3 on the same format and in arcade version (wish umk3 and mk4 were there 2) and get let down. Glad to hear you have it set up to hear when they fix the problem and hope it's soon as i really want to enjoy these games on my pc

You can setup for alerts. You have to register for their support service , but once you register , you can have it set , to where important topics that get updated - you get immediately notified about it via the email. Its pretty nifty.
Other sites like EA and UBI does this was well so you can be notified when a problem resolution gets updated.
