Tiger-of-Wu posted:Firstly I play the PS3 version; I know the 360 has better online capabilities (which is why they force people to pay to use) so lag may not be as big of a problem. So first off I encounter lag in every game. I don't know whether the people who play (literally the most I've seen online is 60-something) are all in America or somewhere far from where I am (Grand ol' Brittainia) but every person I've fought online (ten or so, near enough, with an average of three fights each iirc) there has been some level of lag, ranging from game-disrupting to unplayably ridiculous. Is this a problem for everyone else? (it isn't me, btw, I have a solid 3 mbps, which isn't great but I can fight Americans on Street Fighter 4 who have 1.5 mbps with no problems whatsoever, so it shouldn't be all that big of an issue on my side of things at least). Then, of course, Deathstroke's D,F,Square (where he stabs them with the knife then kicks) doesn't even f***ing work online, EVER!! What the heck is that about, seriously? Am I the only one experiencing this? Is there a way to get around it? Are there other moves which can't be done online? Lastly how often do you guys encounter non-cheap players? All I seem to be seeing are people spamming Green Lanterns hammer drop, trying to infinite Joker's card trick or using lag to their advantage and spamming normal, fast combos. The first two are easily solved by teleporting or running/jumping respectively (well, if timed GL's hammer gets pwned when Deathstroke shoots him in the face) but the lag-spammers are impossible to get around, because of the lag. Any suggestions, feedback or answers? I really do like the game and I'd love to be able to play online without such abitrarily bullshit issues. I can't help but think after getting the 100 online match trophy, online might just be a waste of time without Midway or the Devs giving a turd about it

Tiger-of-Wu posted:Firstly, I'm offended to be treated like a noob. mastermalone, did I or did I not speak of how to defeat Joker card spammers and Green Lantern hammer bitchs? Tiger-of-Wu posted:The first two are easily solved by teleporting or running/jumping respectively (well, if timed GL's hammer gets pwned when Deathstroke shoots him in the face) I can beat cheap players like that with one hand behind my back and whilst spinning on my penis. My problem is after two matches it gets boring, because that's ALL they do. There's no challenge. It's not fun. Please don't patronise me. The thing is the DFSquare still lag-fails when I'm fighting someone with four bars. I'll try to keep playing for a short while but if it's consistently even half as bad as it has been, then there won't be much point. Thanks for the help... or at least, attempts.

His DFSquare is a nice combo ender, but since it can't even be done properly (and since lag makes it near impossible for me to get that far, even though I've nigh on perfected it offline) the metaphorical spanner gets right up into the works.cyclone92 posted:other then the online problems, it is a super-dee-dooper fun game! I agree completely. However since online mode has become the lynchpin of fighting games these days, it's a VERY harmful aspect to the quality of the game.
