I do have to admit the gameplay looks a little rigid. Certainly not as fluid or fast as some of the other fighters (or previous MK's for that matter)

To be fair he said that MK has always felt stiff to him.

"Stiff. That's how Kombatants have always looked and felt to me, and MK vs. DC is no different."

I for one like the way it looks, though.

i disagree i think its just as fight as other fighters if not faster.......Tekken n SC have really slow gameplay

SF has no chance against it because its a 3D SF2

As far as I can tell, there are many who feel the same way as the writer of that MK vs DC review (James Ransom-Wiley). At least in regards to MK. Many fighting fans loved MK II and MK3, and just as he said, the attraction for MK died around 1993.

Although JRW didn't flat out say it, there was a lot of slapstick, un-fighting game-like issues with the MK series, such as: the Toasty, Babality, etc. Or to quote the man: "Gone is that unsophisticated humor that was always charming, if not entirely professional. (Where's that "Toasty" guy? What ever happened to reverting opponents to diapered infants?)"
This was cool initially for a lot of gamers, but it quickly turned the fighting gamer off, and said gamers, many of them, have left the MK series and never looked back.

I would also agree with the statement, "just When did Mortal Kombat start taking itself so seriously? Just make it a DC Comics fighting game from the gang who brought you Mortal Kombat. I'd be satisfied leaving the MK influence at a couple of unlockable fighters -- Scorpion and Sub-Zero, obviously." Because the way his tone and writing was carried out, I feel the same way, as in, this game only peaks interest because of the DCU.

I'm not saying its gonna be bad, it just doesn't look as fluid as other fighters to me personally. Either way I'm gonna get it, it would be the first MK I didn't have on release date otherwise). I just hope they take the time to fix any quirks in this game before they release it (unlike MK:A)

i think that they should be testing this game through and through with Armageddon was really hard to test because it was such a large game it would have been impossible to test everything but with this game they have no excuses

I disagree, while MkvsDC looks as fast as SC4 (I play a lot of SC4, I know) SF4 looks much quicker and both look more fluid to me personally.

I'm sure this will be a great game, I'm just hoping for a seamless experience unlike what Midway has delivered in the past.

Yep, they work on the PS3 letting you use PS2 controllers. Cheap PS2 wired/wireless fighting sticks/controllers are dirt cheap when compared to those for the PS3.
