About Ermac, I really don't think he will make it. Simply because of the fact that he is another ninja. And if any ninja is going to be included, it should be Reptile due to obvious reasons.
I hate when people only give the reasoning that reptile wont be in because he is a ninja, thats like saying So and so wont be in on DC side because he has a mask!

Nah, I don't think he'll be in there. The only characters that'll make it are the ones that are associated with the series.
So less well-known characters such as Ermac, Rain, Jarek, Reiko, etc. won't be in there because they wouldn't appeal to the casual gamer looking for a fun VS. game

At The Start Ermac Was Just Another Ninja But Lately

I would say number 2 just because of what the game is. See, the problem is they went with this non-canon crossover based on the characters around the MK2 timeframe instead of a proper sequel to Armageddon. All the cool improvements came during Deception. If MK8 was set AFTER Armageddon (or at least Deception), then he should be in it. But this crossover doesn't really matter for him. I also like what they've done with him and I would like to see more in the future.

*sigh* Ermac...is a UMK3 character. He has recently had a good fan-base going on over the past years or so but this game is meant only for the MK1+MK2 all-stars if you look at it. As much of a favorite as he is of mine, he has no real chance as of now.

i've liked ermac since UMK3, he's definitely my fave, with baraka, i wish he was in but i dont think he will be.
