Ive been hearing about everyone compairing MK to SF. Everywhere over the net someones got a flash video of MK vs SF, people saying there should be a crossover. Now I know between the fans its Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter. Ive only played street fighter 2 for the GameBoy, black&white, and that was a long time ago, but this year, with MKvsDC Ive been hearing more and more about Street Fighter, Ive looked into the new game, checking IGN.com, and Gamespot.com for information for SF4.

But when I read reviews people say Street fighter sucks, its out dated and not a fun game to play. Im interested in Street Fighter 4. And due to the fact that Ive never played a SF game before, I shouldnt have any epectations for this game. I wouldnt have a problem with the outdated style of this game. So for someone who hasnt played a SF game before would anyone recommend playing this game?

Only theese three street fighter games are good: Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Street fighter 3 3rd strike and Street Fighter alpha 3. Thats the truth. And if this was MK vs Street Fighter then I probably wouldnt buy it.

I hear so and so SF game is good but honestly someone who hasnt played a SF game before, would Playing STreet Fighter 4 be good for someone new to the series?

My friend who is a big Street Fighter fan has told me that pretty much all Street Fighter games play the same way. They don't "change" they just "improve" he's told me. So for a guy like him who has been playing SF for years when he picks up SF4 it will look like he's had the game for a while.

For a guy like you (or me) who hasn't played SF. You don't have to play through the older SF games to enjoy SF4. The controls are basically the same and all the back-story to the characters and what not is on the internet. Will they be introducing some new storyteling? Probably. But if you've never played a SF game before you should still be able to enjoy it so long as you like the fighting system.

Want to know how the game looks and feels? Just hit up YouTube for footage and read some game reviews about older SF games.

Having said that. This game would be as good as any to introduce you to the franchise.

We don't have an exact date, but they said either late 08 or early 09.

Oh wow, so with the release so far way, wouldnt the guys working on the game listen to the fans and try to fix the mechanics for a more loose fighting system, and perhaps try to give the game a different feel from what the fans are used to?

Like Midway, midway listens to the fans does the SF team listen to their fans?

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike is the greatest fighting game of all time. If you live in North America and have a PS2/Xbox, you can pick it up in the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Preferably the Xbox version, since that has online play.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way. Street Fighter is definitely a great fighting franchise, the characters are unique and the gameplay is extremely easy to get into.

SF2 will forever be hailed as the greatest fighting game of all time, simply because of the impact it had. It changed the genre forever and it's worth trying. I'm not a big fan of SF, but I enjoy a fight from time to time.

If you want to know more about Street Fighter, get the Anniversary edition. If you're in Europe, the PAL version doesn't come bundled with SF3(though it's sold separately). Though SF4 supposedly plays more like SF3, I'd still much rather have SF2.

Yes I live in the US, problem is my xbox1 doesnt work anymore, unless the game is backwards compatible for the 360, Id have a reason to buy it. Also theres an xbl arcade version of one of the street fighter games dont rememebr which, but I could get Microsoft point at anytime to download the game. I should download the free trial to test it out.

The XBLM version was buggy if I recall. It had some problems with the emulation and the online. Still, download the trial version, try it out. There's another one in development which hopefully will be better, doubt the 2006 version's worth the purchase now.

Btw, the anniversary edition is on the compatibility list.

So ill free trial the one thats out now, wait for the new one to buy, and look around for the anniversary copy for Xbox.

Oh and im a fan of handheld gaming. Any SF on the PSP?

Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX is the only one I can remember of the top of my head. It scored pretty high and it's at least 2 years old at this point, so it should be cheap.

mk is way better than street fighter but i love street fighter as well 3rd strike is sooooo funn but i think street fighter 4 will be very successfull but to be honest im way more intersted un mk vs dc they changed alot in a good way

Street Fighter IV is basically another SF2 remake out of all of the re-makes they already have.

Probably,the only reason they added a "IV" after Street Fighter is so people would gain interest instead of thinking about another SF2 game.
