The looks for all of the DC characters are derived from a certain comic. So Midway can use anything they want that is from that certain comic. And even if DC cannot get alternate uniforms Midway can still change the colors...I'd be happy with that so long at MK guys have different ones.

Last time I saw a video on this he said in versus mode if both the players are batman then player two will have a different costume. But they also said they weren't done at all yet. So there is an awseome chance that they will. Also as downloadable content.

He said they will have a different color, not costume. He said that they could not do something like take off Superman's chest logo. So I agree that there is an awesome chance of alternate costumes but Midway is gonna have to dance around a little bit and the question is do they think its worth it?

Yeah that color thing is correct.
But I think they will get the ok from dc. And it is really worth it. In my opinion at least. It could possibly raise sales and attention.

I've said this like 100 times but I'll say it again. Being able to change/customize your characters, even just a little adds a lot to replay value of a fighting game. Not having alt costumes would be a mistake.
What makes me mad about MK games is the whole "2nd player color thing". Ed keeps mentioning that when 2 people pick the same character, they should be able to tell them appart. So in just about every MK game, they have always had an alt color to go with each costume. That's great.
BUT THERE'S NO OTHER WAY TO PICK THAT COLOR.
So if you are playing by yourself, you will never see it. In most other fighting games that have alt colors to costumes, you can press a different button and select it. I don't see why they can't do that with MK.
Of course I'd like to see alt costumes, but I would also like to be able to select alt colors. Or even color edits! You'd be surprised how much replay value being able to change colors adds to a fighting game.

And yes, it will make me want this game even more, I like clothes
what differemce would it make if DC didnt have alt.c. if you dont want them then just dont select them, that still isnt a reason to not allow DC to have alts.
I'm not against DC characters having them. But it'll take so much time to create them (consider damages) and DC creators to confirm it all! From what I understood they might be against any single detail of their characters!

I understand that DC is anal about their characters. I don't care as much for DC alternates as I do for MK alternates.

The copyrights for the different costumes are with the artists who first drew them, so if Midway wanted to use, say, the black-coloured Superman Costume, they'd have to pay the original artist; If they wanted to use TDK Batman and/or Joker, they'd have to pay the film-makers. It's all about the money - and Midway just don't wanna pay. No pay, no play.
Ahem... *Points up*

I feel ya. Take MK Armageddon for example. Kano actually has his MK3 attire in that game. The only way you can see that is by having both players select Kano's alternate costume. Armageddon has been out for years and I just now knew about that THIS WEEK! You know why? Because what are the odds of seeing that to begin with? I don't play online, my friends don't play MK, and the cpu sure as hell isn't gonna select alternate attires in Arcade mode. So wtf? >:(
