Nobody dies in Mortal Kombat... It's as simple as that. He's just throwing them into the Netherrealm (AKA the character safety deposit box) until he's ready to pull them out again. We're just gonna see certain characters appear in the next MK game.
when Armageddon was comming out Boon said he wanted to WIPE THE SLATE CLEAN and kill off ALL THE CHARACTERS and start the next game with BRAND NEW CHARACTERS and have the story new and make it that the old MK's never existed in this new story.

No he said most of the people will be killed off. And only a few will return, but they'll be popular/iconic, not people who were in the MK franchise for 1 game.

well didnt they say the characters will still be canon to how they r in the story, even though the game isnt canon? well Kang isnt a Zombie so thats not sticking to how they r in the story

The question is, will Noob Saibot be returning? Or has John Tobias returned to work with Midway?
In my opinion, based on the term "flash and substance", Noob in MK vs DC would be great "flash", but having John Tobias back at work with Midway would be real "substance"!

I think Bane and Martian Manhunter would be great additions to the DCU side.
Also, perhaps one or two of the more obscure DC characters that fit the Mortal Kombat look.
