Hey guys, loved the last MKast
I'm tommystockley btw, one of the guys who picked up for you on YouTube immediately after SnakeEyes aka Dante posted his well known rant. I used to be tommystockley on these boards but my password messed up and I can't recieve emails in my old address anymore.
Anyways... onto the questions:
1. You've confirmed that there will be blood in the game. And you've confirmed fatalities. What I'm wondering is how far will you take these? Could you give us an Idea? I'm guessing we won't be able to tear superman limb from limb, but what about stabbing, breaking bones, eye gouging, impaling and such?
2. What were some of the games considered when you decided to do a crossover? We know about street fighter and Tekken. More specifically, I'm wondering if Killer Instinct was ever considered. It being in need of a new game, and being most similar to your own?
3. Will special moves be usable during freefall or boxing mode? Will scorpion be able to use his spear for anything? Ie: During the freefall, scorpion kicks his opponent and pulls them back up towards him by throwing his spear...
4. When chosing characters for the game, did you consider what MK players would like while chosing characters from the DC side? Ie: Lobo has shown up alot as an MK fan favorite, being the heavy metal badass of DC.
5. Chuck Norris Has his Beard and roundhouse...
Bruce Campbell has his Chin...
Ed Boon... has his eyebrows. How did he get such strong masculine eyebrows?^_^ Joke question of course

He also found tons of glitches in MK: Deception that were never fixed in Armageddon, which led to more problems. He found many glitches in MK: Armageddon the first day it was released, like air cancels and online OTGs. He is the #1 one competitive player at MK: Deception and Armageddon, no one has ever been able to top his skills. Also, the combos he has found/performed have never been done by other player in the world.
Many characters are also broken, meaning they are too powerful and have too many good moves compared to some weaker characters.
All of what was explained above is what has led to the question that was asked in the first podcast, about the testing being sub-par.
Why don't you guys get in touch with Check for a day of testing at Midway, or even a job? It's his dream to be a part of the team. He has done so much work testing the game, testing it everyday for 4-5 hours for the last 4 years. All he wants is to work with Midway and he's deserved it. His email is sodano49@aol.com and he is well known around the globe for being the lead tester of the current MK gen.
You say you care about the fans, but the person who's doing the most work is being ignored. Give him a chance, he has done so much for the game. Please accept his help, you won't regret it.

He's the best dude fans trust with the gameplay. He isn't talking crazy about it, he's proving with a strong suggestive voice that "You Missed This". He's a shark..let him make the game better.
MkTeam, it's not that people/or/I don't trust your judgment on the issue. But it's a real eyepopper when he, and a collection of others confirm something weird that I happen to "find" while playing. And then they define it, and showcases these things for you. What more value from a fan could you ask for besides "patting you on the back" everytime, and mindlessly buying every game? Simply saying, I think people like him are assets you should pay attention to. People like him improve the integrity of the games, and name of Mortal Kombat.
Now, I don't know much about Check, but I played him online, and saw his work before. He's undeniably "the person" you'd want testing the MK games. lol
With respect paid to everyones positions on the team, the outcome of the last few games warrants reassurance right here with this issue. The answer given in that Podcast was exactly the slap in the face alot of us have been talking about for years now.
So, I signed for either patches (cuz you know there's gonna be problems, "every game has problems" right? So you should know you're gonna need 'em), OR put the guy the fans all over the world know of, trust, and will defend in there as at least a tester. Cuz that's what he's already doing.
And he's doing it better than you. It'd be nice to have that working for the games for once.
Sry if that's too harsh or whatever but it's the truth.
The Question here is: Will you allow him to do it before, and or after the game is released, and actually do something about the issues he presents to you?
This kinda worked with what MasterMalone gave you pre-MKA, but the result was not sufficient. Given, restraints, time limits, and the ect..

I'll have to pop in here and sign for CHECK as well and explain a little bit about why. I'll try and get the point across without sounding too harsh because of course we are all human and nobody is perfect.
I'm sure the developers are working like crazy and doing the best they can, but it doesn't seem to be enough.
Something is in need with MK's play development. It needs improvement, not just change but "improvement". Different doesn't mean better, as we've seen with the last few games. The little things that were done to improve last games seemed so sloppy and under developed, I shake my head and wonder what is going on? Sure I can appreciate the effort, but come on....These things are about as hard to ignore as someone holding their finger an inch from your face.
To put it simply, MK's game play feels.....wrong. It's sluggish, sloppy, dumbed down. It gives the impression of it not having been well thought out.
I find this unfortunate because MK is one of my favorite fighting games, or was. Because of the play design and quality of the last few releases. I have no urge to buy this new game. Expecting it to be on a similar level to it's predesesors, even with the many changes.
Hopefully this will change once we get to know more about MK VS DC, but as of now I have a guard up type mentality toward it. Like the saying goes, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I feel like I've fallen for it more than twice already and I don't plan to let it happen again.
I still enjoy playing the 2D MKs more than the new ones, and I'm a big fan of the complex 3D fighters.
Playing MK to me at least the recent versions, MKD and up, feel more like an annoyance than a thrill or enjoyment. I seriously get a sensation like this is so awkward, I don't even want to deal with it. Usually I can't stand the game long enough to finish Arcade mode more than once, if that...
Like Predator said, the answer for the overwhelming number of glitches felt like a slap in the face. Oh well, it's bound to happen...
Instead I'd like for serious action to be taken in order to resolve this problem, because it's a big one.
I see the game play, actual combat as the main part and most important aspect of a fighting game. If that's all messed up, said game is not worth much is it? There are better choices at my disposal.
If the testers aren't able to find enough of the problems and or the team can't fix them. Maybe the team needs added assistance, testers like Check that have an incredible love, talent, and dedication for this part of game development. Same for coders and play designer/s, supply them with help.
MK's play quality needs a boost big time.
Lets see what happens...

For questions:
1 = Will MK VS DC have Running in it?
2 = Would beta testing be possible via downloadable game demos? Maybe a game demo that has the fighters but no story mode or stuff like that, mainly for play testing. Have it expire maybe after 2 weeks or so. A vs mode and a practice mode would be good, so people can check frame data, test with infinite health, etc.

It's great to see that the MK Team is consistently trying to be involved with the community, so thanks a lot for picking out some of our questions to answer.
Onto a question that I think almost every MK fan wants to know but hasn't thought about asking yet:
Since the release of Armageddon, the biggest question that's been flowing through the fans' minds was "Which characters are going to make it into the next-gen games"? We know that MK Vs. DCU is not a continuation of Armageddon, but is it safe to assume that the MK characters present in the upcoming game have also been chosen as participants in future canon games?
I'm sure people have wondered this at some point or another, and I personally really want to know if the upcoming Mortal Kombat roster is an indication for the roster of canon games that will follow MKDC.
