When I saw that there are no fatalities and this will be rated T, I freaked. Doesn't Midway realize that fatalities are what made this game different from games like Street Fighter and stuff? Fatalities and blood MADE this game! Midway, I love you all, but you're losing it! This isn't even Mortal Kombat, is it? It can't be... No.... No..........

it also made Joe Lieberman and a variety of other Senators want to created and directly control the ratings of video games....not exactly something I would be proud of.
the blood and gore WAS the gimmick that got it to break through all the other riff-raff at the time. its not needed anymore. MK is one of the oldest franchises in fighting games, coupled only with Street Fighter.
the mechanic of a fatality is still very much in this game, it just has a new wrapper over it. I say quit B1tchin over the wrapper and have some candy.

Let's see....
PROs
= a Mortal Kombat game made from scratch, essentially a new game
= the best graphics compared to all other MK iterations
= a cross over with arguably the biggest comic franchise, with at least Superman & Batman (they aren't called World's Finest for nothin!)
= vertical combat, a first in the realm of mainstream fighting games
= new Destructive arenas
= DC's debut to the fighting genre this century*
= a Teen Rating could possibly draw in more gamers
CONs
= toned down fatalities and gore
= a Teen Rating could possible scare off some MK fans
Overall, IMHO, the PROs outweigh the CONs for this game. There shouldn't be any reason why gamers should be dissatisfied with this game.
*MUGEN games do not count.
