Most of us DC fans are fairly neutral about the whole thing. While there is plenty of death in DC comics, the major heroes don't dismember, so as far as fatalities go most of us are pleased at the idea of finishers rather than major dismembering, gore filled death moves.
But as far as just general talk, the MK Fans are alot more talkative about in than the DC fans. Most of us are just like "What? There's actually a game coming out featuring DC characters other than Batman and Superman? That's kind've cool."
That's about the extent of the commentary I've seen from the major DC fans.

As a DC fan, my reaction was "...WTF?". A fair number of my forum mates and friends had the same reaction. The lack of fatalities also were frowned upon most of the time. Some were surprised at this partnership but think it might have potential, but others also saw it as a failure. So pretty much the same as the guys(and gals) here.

I must admit that im glad that there are no fatalities. It just wouldn't seem right to me. I like Mortal Combat, Ive been playing since Sega. Fatalities were awsome but this isnt just Mortal Combat. With the two mixxing, graphic fatalities were needed to be removed to fit with D.C. or it just wouldn't be... how do I put it? Realistic enough.

I freaking love the idea of this game losing the fatalities is kinda lame, But most heroes don't kill. I'm DC over Marvel all day long, so to see a top tier game like MK mixing it up DC has my hopes up pretty high. Ive also played EVERY MK game ever made (aside from portable) and I to say MK is NOT just fatalities. We all fell in love with MK because of all the aspects of the game characters, levels, lore, and magic all of these are over the top, and WAY cooler than most other fighting games.

NO I can see DC doing fatalities like how in the game Marvel Nemisis they had a type of fatality. AND MK WITHOUHT FATALITY IS SOOOO WRoNG!

Basically somthing is going to happen to Bruce Wayne and somone may become the next Batman, my bet is it will be Tim(Robin) or Dick(Nightwing). If you read the summary for an upcoming Robin issue it looks like Tim Drake the current Robin might be the bat for a bit, I'm pretty sure Bruce will be back, but I guess we'll see anything could happen. The whole Batman R.I.P. will also be in the Nightwing books in the upcoming months.

The problem with that is that most Marvel fans I've talked to didn't like the the death dealing final blows in that game because, for most of the characters in that game, such horrendously over powered means of killing their opponents were very out of character.
Heck, several of them just won't kill period unless there is abolutely positively no other way of stopping the enemy. They certainly wouldn't do a "finish him" style death, killing their foe after the opponent no longer has the will to keep fighting.
Spider-man and Human Torch for example are usually fairly light hearted characters, they might kill in very extreme circumstances, but it's a rarity (we're talking like, fate of the world or universe is at stake rarity.)

Huge DC fan, (especially Superman and the JLA) and i am very very excited about this game. Bout time DC gets a chance at a good game. Its also about time MK gets a chance at a decent game (imo all since 4 have sucked) not overly concerned about the loss of fatals, especially if the finishers are decent. This game has potential to resurrect both parties sagging game titles. Hopefully it does. Mk 3d is horrible, and so are most dc games (jl:heroes was nice)
