realistic rivals

ive been reading a lot of these match-up topic posts and i dont think people really understand why batman and subzero are considered rivals, because i see a lot of..."lets have goro vs bane" or "killer croc vs reptile because there both reptiles". neither batman or sub-zero share similar attacks, looks, or fighting style. what they do share is the same ethical value, morale, and view on justice (excluding sub-zero's occasional fatality here and there ;P) but they are the same person in different universes.... so no! sub-zero rival should not be mr.freeze because they both deal with ice.
here are some more in tuned match-ups
Liu kang vs Superman: (Both are humble, respectful, and both when times are rough, feel the same sworn duty to protect the innocent)
Johnny Cage vs Flash:(both are good natured, kind of comical, and they wisen up when its crunch time)
Havik vs Joker: (both are insane, share the same belief of complete chaos, and both have prefound hatred for authority) That is why i believe joker wont be in the game, havik is closest to him personality wise in mk then any one else, and obviously most know havik wont probably be in the game IMO.
well there were just a few, well let me know what you guys thing a good match-up would be, using a shared personality idea.

I dunno but i just thought of a rivalry like liu kang vs Joker it just popped in my head, i could imagine them in the game figthing in the subway station in gotham

What about Sindel v.s. poison Ivy? I think it would be a good rivalry

I am guessin they put Sub-Zero and Batman 2gether cuz they both are blue and black?? LOL idk.. in the pic of them 2 2gether it shows blue on both.. i know thats a dumb reason but who knows.. haha

Wonder-Woman VS Kitana
Poison Ivy VS Sonya
Scorpion vs Superman
Reptile VS THE JOKER
Sub-Zero vs Riddler
i am thinkin i am tryin to put matches for whose colors match.. like sub-zero (blue) with batman (blue/dark blue) u know?

I think Aquaman and Johnny Cage will be matched, on account of both being legitimately good characters that are the butt of every joke. I'm not even joking about this.
Also, Raiden may be Wonder Woman's match, as they are both deities, while Sonya is matched with Huntress or Black Canary. That's just my idea of it, though.

I think Hotaru vs. The Joker would be a good rival because of Hotaru is kind of gungho about order or maybe Bizarro vs. Hotaru.

Shinnok vs Lex Luther (both are ambitious, power hungry characters, who hardly ever get mixed in the fray, however they do get there hands dirty when they need to)
