He is strong, but not that strong. He can pick up a car, yes, but not toss it like Superman. I will have to say though, when written properly, Orin can be a real badass, a hotheaded, womanizing, warrior king, conqueror of the seas. Remember that his powers are lame, don't think talking to sea life means he is chatting it up with dolphins, he is commanding whales, sharks and giant squid like loyal soldiers. Even out numbered, in or even near his element, Aquaman is a force to be reckoned with because he can draw upon the most dangerous animals of the ocean to do his bidding.
Also, lamest? Not even close, especially when you take a look at Marvel. Husk, for example, peels off her skin? That is a great super power? YUCK! You have Big Bertha, a woman who's super power is that she becomes "Blob" fat? What about Alpha Flight's line up? A bisexual Sasquatch (sure he swings both ways, but the character itself isn't original) and gay North Star who's powers are light generation? Talk about lame... Go back to ripping of DC Comics because at least then you turn out half-way decent characters.

Good point about him and his army of sea-creatures. but can he take an arm-bar from jax??..no hahhaa probably not!
im just saying i dont think hes an ideal dc character to pick when going up against MK.

Aquaman's strength is rather formidable, not that it has any bearings in-game. He's supported the weight of a building and lifted an entire city block. The problem is that tossing a bus through a building isn't too impressive when some of the guys and gals sitting nearby can bench a mountain.

They've actually fought. It had Batman clearly winning, but another writer had Deathstroke being worried about facing Aquaman directly- and this was after he took on and evaded Flash and Green Lantern(with a bit of luck and strategy). It would also be worth noting that Deathstroke's fought and beaten Batman in direct combat.
The reason he wanted to avoid fighting him was because of his physical attributes. Some writers put it this way- He's got enough strength to swim Niagara Falls and move faster than a torpedo when he's under water. When he's on land without anything slowing him down, he's amazingly fast. The ability to take intense pressure also gives his body a natural toughness that lets him taking small arms fire without too much danger, along with giving him enhanced senses since there's really not a good deal of light underwater. And that's not even considering his eccentric abilities, like telepathy or his Waterbearer hand.
Of course this is all about the older Aquaman. A new guy replaced him, and their powers are similar in some ways but not on the same level.

Well when was the last time you saw Jax wrestle a Great White? Also, with his control of water, I say he would rust those stupid muscle enhancers off Jax's arms. He is a popular choice? Maybe not, but is he a logical one? Damn right. Aquaman needs to have his beard, even a short one would due, he needs to look like a MAN, not a clean shaved boy. For voice actors, grab the guy from JLU, at least then you would have a badass character instead of a Super Friend.
On that note, watch JLU, take a look at who Aquaman is actually supposed to be, not this campy pansy, but a take-no-prisoners ruler of Atlantis.

Heh, that's what he's mainly known for. Super Friends didn't help cementing a positive image for the character. I didn't care much for the guy until a writer I liked took over the comic so I started reading and enjoying his stories.
His telepathy's mainly tuned to sea life, but he's used it to talk to others, too. He's also used it to take down someone that was as powerful as Superman by tapping into the part of their brain that evolved a primitive sea creature and giving him a seizure, so its got a decent number of uses.

I really liked Yvel Guichet's take on Aquaman. Modern and sleek. Plus JLU Aquaman was just great. I've seen some people pleasantly surprised at how he was shown in the cartoon.

Well he seems powerful. but i think Jax would win. Jax's arms are resistant to about anything even acid, i dont think alittle water would rust it. and once hes using his fancy water moves jax would just clearly run up to him and give him a nice straight to the face...jax wins...flawless victory!
