It's all opinion buddy...Liu Kang has nowhere to go story-wise, I'm not hating on him. I don't like Superman because he is seemingly perfect and has what any other Superheroes can do...If all of these Superheroes were real, We wouldn't need any but him and we'd always be running to the same guy for everything. Batman is amazing because he is just human. Gotta love him.

1. liu kang is polarizing, and you all know it. i'm one of those who dont like him.
2. cage - i dont like this humorous attempt to an mk character. he's more a joke.
3. sonya? what is so special about her that shes such a big character? the other females are much cooler.

even though i like all of the characters you mention i think liu kang and sonya should be left out, sonya has never developed in the right way after trilogy, and liu kang has won enough of the tournaments i think let some others be the hero of the day, some characters we like that is not sujinko.
cage i love and think he could make a triumphant come back, as long as he has the split punch. you have to admit it would be a lot of fun punching the bat and superman in the crotch.
other than the obvious characters that no one really likes, ones i think should be left out are: milleena, rain and kano, never liked kano, rain has developed in a very bad way and i just prefer kitana

cage is actually a pretty cool fighter but his character just annoys me. i#d like to have kano and rain in, but mileena... i prefer kitana too.
