That's what I'd rather see.
remember test game lol
I hope so (that way we can get this idea over with and focus on an actual MK sequel instead), but at the same time it all depends on what happens in the near future.

I'd rather give birth to a chair than see an MK vs. DC crossover game. Goodbye, it's been fun. I'm leaving for good. Take care, everyone.

Hi everyone. My name is Nar and I work in the comic book industry as a full time artist for properties under Marvel Comics.
And I'm a big Mortal Kombat fan and have been since MK 2.
I'm currently 29 years old now and I'm pleased to see that MK has sustained this long.
However, I have to admit that I really wasn't too thrilled about this new production idea. For one, I'm not a DC fan. (laughs) But I do like and respect Batman very much since Tim Burton's film about him. Either way, I don't have anything substantial enough to say against Detective Comics. And that's not why I'm here to begin with anayways.
Mortal Kombat has always been the pinnacle of raw, violent and somewhat realistic cult fighter games out there.
Even after the dramatic change from 2D to 3D. It still retained what was necesarry to carry the MK logo. Fatalities for one.
And I definitely followed along having owned most titles.
All that aside, when I first heard about MK vs DC, I laughed and knew it was an April Fools joke because that's around the time when I found out about it. No way could that be for real. It was so disturbing and awkward to me, I immediately brushed it off as fan prank. Or some mugen dream of high school kids throughout.
But then... I saw Boon's interview. 4 different ones. And my jaw dropped. Not in a good way, I'm sorry to say. Especially when he almost nervously said, there weren't going to be fatalities, just some type of watered down finishers.
Then, he added that it would be a T rated game!
I just couldnt help but feel Mr.Boon decided to sell out probably because the man couldn't keep up with the MK world on his own since Tobias "the story man" left the team.
The trailer makes sure to use Batman in it and not Superman. I don't know how or what it's going to look like to have Scorpion facing Superman. It just sounds pretty outlandish.
But after checking out fan comments from different sites. I noticed something very peculiar.
Divisions within the same fan base itself from both sides.
You have the hardcore MK fans. You have the "in betweeners" or casuals. And you have the DC fans with the same app.
Hardcore MK fans seemed more hurt than anything by this new "travesty". While the casual fans were more easy going about it and hopeful even. The DC fans had their own division too actually. Some of them could care less about this. While others are waiting to get their hands on this so they can take out the MK characters out of playful spite.
I'm sorry to say that I'm actually sitting in the same corner as that of a Hardcore MK fan. By hardcore, we aren't talking about those who own every game. But the ones who really traveled with its original story line and dealt with the shaky canon/noncanon tales in the MK universe, hoping nothing more changes into more derailment.
MK has definitely changed a whole lot.
And thats not to say its a bad thing, however, I do wish the MK team, particularly Mr.Boon, could have rather spent more time perfecting a good thing, rather then just running away from every problem they created.
I was actually hoping that the new MK game for PS3 and 360 would look amazing, realistic, and have an awesome retelling of its origin like Boon promised using his "Batman Begins" scenario. And this was the opposite.
And thats my honest opinion. This game is controverial, but not for the right reasons. Without the fatalities (at the very least) its just not a Mortal Kombat game and you may as well start spelling Mortal Kombat like this -->Mortal Combat.
And I sure as heck don't want to feel like I did many years ago with Mortal Kombat on the Super Nintendo *shrugs* with those replaced fatalities *shurgs more*.
When all the kibble wears out (the air fights etc) what then? theres no fatalities to play with. Only 10 MK characters to pick from. Hmm... oh well.
Well, I gotta get back to work. Have a great day fellas!
I hope Midway developes a real M rated MK game as soon as this child friendly game is released because I'm still holding on here. Don't let me down big guys!
-Nar
PS. This poll is cute! If I invite the people I work with over here, the scale will tip heavy towards the negative corner.
You guys will really just have to wait and see what happens when the game finally comes out. Are you buying it? I'm not. I don't even have a PS3 yet. ;D

But just because he doesn't like DC doesn't mean he could be a Marvel fan.

Any one of the Mortal Kombatants could seriously mess Superman up because their powers are derived from magic. No kryptonite needed.
