Tiberius, you seriously amuse me.
These boards have been filled with impassioned arguments by very assertive individuals, yet you consistently make appearances and voice your displeasure with the current path of this franchise in very brief and matter-of-fact posts.
It's just kind of funny to see how you are continuously a voice on the boards that is steadfast yet seems at times nearly devoid of passion.
And that, sir, makes you one of the most sensible posters here.

I try to be reasonable and respectful even though it's obvious I don't have the majority opinion here about this latest move that MK is making. In the end, I know voicing my displeasure won't make any difference in the eyes of Ed Boon and his crew, but sometimes a person has to show people where they stand. By the way, this isn't the first time I've been strongly opposed to something that's popular. I can't stand the Halo series.

I'm not really sure you are in the minority, Tiberius. Honestly, things seem fairly even here, or at least they did for those first several days (excepting the first one or two where the skeptics seems to outnumber the optimists two to one). I think things calmed down after that so that those of us who are excited about the game have hung around, while most of the players who were very angry have stopped posting, because honestly, how many people are willing to continually discuss a game they don't want to play?
Anyway, I respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreements.

I think it's overrated. I'm sick of how people act like it's the greatest game series of all time when in reality it's nothing special (even more so when most FPS out there are far superior). Its main character is generic and bland too. But anyway, back to the topic at hand so they don't lock this. I think this MK/DC crossover is a bad attempt to make opposites attract. Sure it works sometimes, but not in a case where there are virtually zero real similarities that can be put to good use.

In an interview he said that he remembered reading DC comics as a kid so:
DC comics give him plenty of child hood memories and what does he do in return? he gets scorpion and sub zero to kill DC characters in Kombat

I'm wouldn't call this a blending of opposites, myself. Both MK and DC are based in universes where combat and conflicts are central. Both comics and the MK storyline involve super-powered beings, and both have plots that are action driven and out of this world but are also outlandish and absurd (I don't mean that in a derogatory way).
Really the main differences are in power levels and the willingness of characters to kill, but these are reconcilable in my mind, so it seems like a decent match to me.

There's still a few people around who continue to discuss their dislike for the game, but you are right. There's not as many as there used to be. I guess the reason why I still do it is because I've been a big MK fan since Day One and I think I have some decent points of view to offer to those who like the game idea and those who don't. Not only that, but I also see some seriously disturbing parallels between this series and a franchise that died last year due to self-inflicted wounds. I'm afraid I'll see that happen here with MK as well. And yes, it's cool to know that most people can agree to disagree here.

It's a little hard to do that when nearly every single superhero game ever created has been anemic at best. Not to mention the fact that a fair number of people find this crossover to be a bad idea to begin with.
