Actully, Trevor Goddard wasn't Aussie, he was British. But he told everyone he was from Australia...no idea why. But to an Aussie there was no doubt in my mind he was British

In a sense, the two countries and the accents of their people are not that different. Partly due to that the British deported their criminals to Austrailia long ago. The law is still on the books today, if you spraypaint graffiti under their bridges, a person could still be deported. The first population of non-aboriginal people of Austraila were British.
My point is that the difference is mute.
