The way the MK characters do it doesn't exactly scream "I'm dying with honor". I mean, Shujinko throws his swords up in the air and puts his arms out only for them to get cut off. That's just messed up.

Yes but a hara kiri is done to keep honor and to kill one self instead of dork killing you
seppaku is when a samurai makes a huge mistake i would know i am japanese
