Actually hara-kiri refers to the abdominal cut suicide ceremony, while sepukku is to stab yourself in the torso with a katana.

You mean "Seppuku".
Yes, both Harakiri and Sebbuku mean ritual suicide by disembowelment with a sword.
The Japanese language uses a lot of kanji (Chinese characters), and have several pronunciation, mainly the native Japanese Reading (Kun-yomi) and the Chinese Reading (On-yomi).
Hara(belly)-Kiri(cutting) is Japanese Reading, while
Sep(cutting)-puku(belly) is Chinese Reading.
