In MKA's konquest mode, did Shinnok know which brother held the "key" to destroying all the combatents in the MK universe?

I'm pretty sure he thought it was either brother at the beginning, so he sided with Daegan (since Daegan was willing to deal with Shinnok) then when Shinnok started to see Tavens abilities I'm pretty sure he thought that he was sided with "the wrong brother" as he put it. I'm not entirely sure however.
