I love the communistic approach the mods take to the boards. If anybody abuses anything they over abuse their power. If people want to post polls they should be allowed to post polls. Now I agree pointless polls should be locked, and repeat offenders banned. I don't agree with the mod's just up and deciding to take them away because they're "annoying". It's freedom of speech, and last I checked you didn't have to give up that right in order to sign up for this site.

Read your first ammendment again, please. "Freedom of speech" refers to the government. My children have it memorized, and more importantly, they know what it means. I wish more people that throw around the "freedom of speech" mantra would do the same.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free excercise thereof. Or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of greivances.
Last I checked, Midway wasn't part of the government. Congress hasn't made any laws about what you can post on Midway. You are not guaranteed "Freedom of Speech" on private property, which this is.

Bottom line is it's still senseless oppression to people's opinions. You nor anyone else has offered a valid reason that isn't an opinion as to why the polls were taken away. It's just like the objections. It's not like people were forced to click on them or that they just snuck up on people. There's a little icon to the side that lets you know it's a poll. You can lock poll topics just like you guys and girls do all other topics if they're senseless or too populated on the front page (which if that's the case must mean they're well liked, that or it's just one bozo who's spamming which is grounds for discipline) just lock a few of them up. Eventually the novelty would have wore off anyways and people with some sense would use them accordingly. But again you've taken the oppressive stance and just taken them away for no reason at all. I'll go ahead and make the face for you so you don't have to.

btw mods Rule 11 sounds an awful lot like the new Detanee Bill that was passed. Even if a person has been tried and found innocent, they can still be held in confinement at G-bay (not Green Bay either) until the government just feels like letting them go. The mods can just change the rules around or just completely ignore them for no reason whatsoever and just go willy nilly on banning people, taking away polls and locking topics just for the heck of it. This is why there needs to be scrutiny. And it's not so much even the polls as it is the point of this tyrade. We the people should have a way to hold authority figures in check and accountable for instances like this one.
