You fight Ermac in the warriors shrine. The place in the beggining where you needed the fist of ruin too pass once you have it and the swing ability you gotta do some sacrifice(I'd tell ya what it was but I havent played it in ages so I don't remember)

well,what subby_is_great said was kinda right,but it wasn't the exact deatails you nead yet.
by the way,there isn't any sacrifice in it.
the exact details are.....
first of,before you try it,you need to have both the fist of ruin and the swing abilaty
after you got both abilaties,go to the very begining of the wu shi academy and take the path which has a statue blocking it,use your power attack to break it(by the effect of the fist of ruin abilaty).
after that,enter the area where ermac is,but there is a door blocking the way,there is some kinda statue kinda thing(it kinda look's like a statue) high up,use the swing abilaty to swing from the wooden (kinda stuff) and you'll reach the statue kinda thing,intract with it(by the R2 button) and the door will open automatically,go through it and you'll reach a place which has statues of mk1 charectars,it'll also have a statue of ermac,intract with the statue of ermac three times and ermac will come to life and fight you.
