How do you perform the team moves? Please Help!

Can anyone tell me how to do the team moves in coop mode (xbox)?
My brother and I can never get the team moves to work. When I looked at the help menu in the start screen, it says push R+black. This doesn't ever seem to work. What am I missing?

try looking in the manual, or on google type "How to preform team moves in MKSM"
Games arent that descriptive all the time, LOL.

liu kang and kung lao must have atleast a fatalaty each.
then press r2 while holding r1 tword the other(liu tword lao or lao tword liu)
it's not a fatalaty or a multalaty.
but it isn't a normal move either.
try it and you will know what i mean.

i don't have an xbox.
but press whatever's the configuration of throwing while holding the special move's button twords your partner.
