PS2 MK Shaolin Monks Survival Mode Walkthrough by: XxXKung-LaoXxX
Welcome to my Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks Survival mode walkthrough, I haven't gotten to this part with
Liu Kang yet, but, I can give you an insight of it from Kung Lao's perspective.
This is my first FAQ so be nice.
To get to this area is kind of tricky, thankfully, I have just what you need to get to this area.
Part A: Steps for Survival mode-
1) Go to the foundry.
2) Go to the area where you found the axe earlier.
3) Go back out into the hall.
4) Throw one of the enemies through the wood on the wall to your left and go into that area.
5) Fall into the lava ONCE and jump back out again, by the area where you unlock Scorpion if you didn't
cheat.
6) Run to the room to the right of the save statue and destroy the barrel inside that room with the CIRCLE
BUTTON only.
7) Walk out of that area and run up the ramp in that room and take a sharp left and destroy the barrel to
THE RIGHT with the CIRCLE BUTTON only.
8) Run back into the room where the kama's are found and destroy only THE RIGHT barrel with CIRCLE BUTTON
only.
9) Run out into the room with the large things that crash down upon you, run to the end of that hall and
destroy that barrel using the CIRCLE BUTTON only.
10) Now, backtrack to the room with the Kama's and destroy the other barrel using the CIRCLE BUTTON only.
11) Run back to the area where you took the sharp left, destroy the other barrel, take a LITTLE step back
and HOLD the CIRCLE BUTTON and your axe will come crashing to the floor, if you've done this correctly,
green spikey things will appear out of the floor, walk into them and press R2 to being your survival mode
challenge!
Part B: The opponents.
Level 1: Your first wave of opponents will be Baraka, taraktas, and masked guards. These guys aren't TOO
tough, since you have that axe on your side. Keep hitting everyone in sight with the axe, I recommed
pressing circle alot because that will do the most damage. You shouldn't have too much trouble with these
guys so, let's move on shall we?
Level 2: Thankfully no bosses this round. However, you will run into to pesky foes. I strongly recommed
not using any of your fatalities until you have 3 blood orbs filled and then execute a BRUTALITY!!! This
will cause your opponents to be pushovers. Sometimes, you'll run into a few stragglers who didn't feel
the wrath of you, and you'll have to kill them. Just kill them as you would anybody. There are 2 health
orbs hidden in this stage on the left and right sides of the room.
Level 3: Ok, there's a mini-boss here. Do you remember that Oni Warlord at the pit? Well, he's back with
his just as ugly friend. On top of that, you'll have to deal with Oni's as well. Again, I recommend
executing combos until your blood orbs are filled and execute a brutality on one of the Oni's but kill the
Oni Warlords with it. Not too hard right? Good, let's move on.
Level 4: Back to the pit with our favorite scaly fiend, Reptile. This time he has bloody skeletons to
back him up. Unfortunatley, you won't be able to execute any fatality/multality/brutality, because
there's a boss among you(Reptile). Keep throwing your projectile's at him along with the skulls and bones on the ground, they do a suprising amount of damage, at least I thought so.
Level 5: Ooh boy. 2 of my most favorite character that this game has to offer. Inferno Scorpion and
Orochi Hellbeasts. This was pretty difficult for me, hopefully it won't be for you. Try to keep as much
distance from you and Inferno Scorpion and the hellbeast, at least until you've slain the 3 hellbeasts. Also remember not to engage the hellbeast in close-quarters kombat or else he'll do a flame-up thingy and you'll lose precious energy. Keep throwing your projectiles and attacking until Inferno Scorpion is no more. Something else about the hellbeasts, I recommend, when he leans down to blow fire, run in the back of him and do your torando shield move, that'll do some serious damage. Let's move on to the most annoying of all of these rounds.
Level 6: Clay soldiers, and the brothers of shadow. Doesn't seem to hard right, WRONG. These 2 people
work into eachother so well, it's sickening. However, you have regained the ability to preform a
fatality/multality/brutality. YAY!! Quickly break the Clay soliders shield's with Fist of Ruin. Then
execute a finisher. Also, be aware of the living tree in this area, and also there are thorns beyond the
tree, so, make use of them if you can, too. Let's move on to Kano and his gang.
Level 7: Kano's back, but, this time he's brought some powerful backup, Black Dragon mercenaries.
Unfortunatley, you've yet again lost the ability of executing a finisher. So, in this round you'll have
to be lucky. Kano's rolling ball attack can be VERY frustrating and annoying, but, don't be discouraged
if you lose once or twice, you can just select "continue" and be brought back there with a full bar of
health. Let's move on to a fight I'd hope I'd never have to be involved in.
Level 8: Oh my God! Goro and Kintaro!!! Ok, don't give up all hope just yet. These guys are slow and
clumsy, so use that to your advantage. This battle will be dragged out, but, better the battle then you
right? Keep throwing your projectile and them and always be aware of their jumps and dodging them. With
hard work and patience you will prevail.
Level 9: As if Goro and Kintaro weren't badass enough, now you have to fight 4 Mortal Kombat ninjas.
Sub-Zero, Reptile, Ermac, and Scorpion. This can be described as the ultimate "test your might".
These guys are practically flawless, but, you can prevail, I did. Make use of the characters statues. If
you break them, they will contain precious health. After a long hard battle, you can consider yourself an
expert shaolin monks player. You've taken on quite possibly the best fighters Mortal Kombat has to offer. So give yourself a pat on the back, clap for yourself. I would.
