Probably. Either that or other ways data can be corrupted is if you turn the power off, reset, or open the console while the game is saving. However I had corrupted data one time when I didn't even do any of those. It does suck.
About your above post, wherever you last saved your game is where you'll be when you load it, even if you have already defeated Shao Kahn. You don't need to defeat him again in the same story mode. But there's also other story modes with Kung Lao, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero, and ko-op. They add to the percentage.
Cool. Yeah I didn't reset, turn off power or anything during saving so I dunno. Somethin' similar happened to another game of mine and I didn't use any cheats but in another case the cheats caused the failure. I think I'll have to use trial and error to figure out if it's directly related to the cheats or not.

For the first smoke mission I heard it has to do with that statue in the Sould Tombs that says sumthin' like This Creature Once A Guardian Now Sleeps or sumthin' like that, and that Kung Lao can teleport behind it, but what if you aren't playin' as Kung Lao? How do you get the hidden fatality behind the statue?

The first Smoke Mission has to do with revealing a fatality kode in the Soul Tombs by throwing the Tarkata (in the spiked-ceiling room) toward the back wall. That statue is something else. Since only Kung Lao is able to get the hidden fatality you would have to use him, there is no other way...

Yeah. I found the first mission. The smoke missions seem rather easy so far.

does anyone know where to find the Smoke missions. I've made to the Shao Khan, Kintaro, Shang Tsung fight and I haven't found a single Smoke mission. Are they before or after this part of the game?
you must go to living forest and where the watrfal is go near the beginning and you will see an alive swinging tree there ther are 2 clay soldiers bash one into the wall with the face and smoke is inside.

How do I choose Survival Mode. I already hit the barrels in order but I don't know where I havr to go to choose it. Help.
