OK this might help (I already have the axe and this helped a great deal - got it from another forum board)
Basically when you enter the foundry area, there are 3 immediate paths. Up the ramp, down the hallway right in front of you, and a hallway to your right. The Axe is down the hallway directly in front of you. 2 Demon Archers will break through the walls, just beat them up quickly and move on (though one of the walls in that area is breakable to Unlock Scorpion in VS. mode). One you go through the doors at the end of the hall, jump across the lava to the open door to the far left corner of the room. Once in there you need to do a room event where you toss like 3 guys into the fire. Then a cut scene will occur. From there go to the next room, beat the hell beast while not getting your ass kicked by the 2 spear guys (god I hate them). Personally I'd just grab them and throw them into the lava at the far end of the room quickly then go back to beating up the hell beast. But they'll keep respawning because they're needed for a room event. I just waited to after I killed the beast. The room event is that there are 2 hooks hanging from the roof, knock a guy on each of them and a climbing wall falls down for ya. Climb up it, long jump across the lava immediatly to your right then jump back across and go the other way. You'll fight 2 more spear guys (don't know their actual name) or you can just throw them. Wall run over the next thing of lava then double jump before you hit the spikes. Run through the next door and just defeat the enimies. The Axe will then be carried out to another room, go into it, break the "Test your might" blocks and the Axe is all ready to be used. (Oh and don't worry if you lose the axe, because as I found out from my stupid friend, it respawns in that room if you throw it)
