I have never seen a MK:SM or Deception or any MK strategy guide for that matter locally but if i did ever buy one i would buy it off the Internet.
The last and only one i brought was for GTA: Vice City and it cost me about £13 and that was in Waterstones but online they are found everywhere quite cheap too.
www.play.com
www.compman.co.uk
www.amazon.co.uk www.amazon.com
These places sell them cheap though, but i always use the Internet now for help, i don't really like folowing walkthroughs because takes the fun out, i only use them when i need help or need to find things etc.
I downloaded one for KOTOR 2 just because i needed help on the area where you had to be the little robot dude and turn off things in a cave, i couldn't find where i was and stuff haha
Dude like the original Playstation strategy guide for GTA San Andreas was incorrect on a lot of things, and then they remade it for PC and XBOX, and they still got some pictures wrong. (Excellent game btw)
I have the KotORII Strategy Guide, and it's not half bad but I've added up more than 300+ hours on KotORII and lemme tell ya - the book is missing a few things. I need to get my original Knights strategy guide back...

I got that game GTA:San Andreas but never play it because i got it for PS2 and i never play PS2 coz i thinks its crap, i also got Manhunt which i never play...again coz its on PS2.
I suppose the people that make the strategy guides don't care about the additional content, aslong as they have provided enough information for the player to finish the game.
I can't remember much about GTA though, i didn't really like following instructions in guides though i prefer to things my own way.
I feel sorry for those that rely on strategy guides to play games not directed towards you trav i'm just saying guides should be used only as help resources and not instructions on how to do the game from start to finish.

Yeah, I hear ya. Really when I bought the XBOX gta-sa walkthrough, I was expecting to have to rely on it at every turn, (cause I sucked at Vice City) but it turns out I went all the way through the mission mode without using it once, and I'm just now using it to find the cars for the import/export thingy. Dude like I went all the way through the game and then realized that I had not saved the game after an arrest, so I ended up with like zero arrests, lol.
The only time I used the strategy guide in KotOR II was the 2nd time playing through it. I always play through the Knights games without the strategy guide the first time. Male, Lightside. The second time around I usually play through with Female on Darkside. And I know most people are like, "ew, you play as a girl". Well, it gives me something to stare at. And I never do the romantic crap with the females. That's just pushing it.
But yeah like I said before Guides should not be followed word for word. It should just be used as a reference when you're stuck. And I'm talking stuck stuck. Like 2 or 3 hours stuck.
I'm going to have to change the site's name from "Komplete Strategy Guide" to "Komplete Reference Manual" lol.

Hi Kombat...
I'm sorry, but I really need your help, I do not know what to do.
Look: In this moment I am in Outworld. I already defeated Jade and obviously I got the wall waking ability. This was at the Evil Monastery. After that I am stuck in the game, I do not find any way to go on!!!
- At the living forest I need the swing ability and I do not have it. I
know it is at the warriors shrine (after geeting through the Statue in Wu Shi Academy), but I can not open the door, I need to do some sacrifices.
- At the foundry, after defeating the 2 priest and 2 barakas I walk on and I find 3 possibilities:
1st. Swinging on a wall (I can not, I already said why).
2nd. I have in front of me a big wall with the MK Dragon and something like a koin inseide it and as I interact it is said I need to have enough victories to have acces to this area.
3rd. At the right side of this area there is a wall and I try to reach the top but I can not. It is impossible.
That's my situation now, so sad.... buaaaaaaaahhhhh.
What did I do wrong or what haven't I done???
I do not see anya way, sorry!
Thanks so much for your help.

I got this one.
-dont wory about the shrine for a little while.(you need swing)
-Did you defeat reptile in the living forest yet? If so, then you are done in there.(exept for secrets, which you can get later)
-Foudry: there are three portals to different levels in this place
1.NETHEREALM: left side, there are a series of poles that take you to the top, there is the portal.
2.ACTUAL FOUNDRY: past that door with the koins in it is the portal, you need all five koins to open. (you get a coin for every boss you defeat a.k.a. TOURNAMENT VICTORIES)
3.WASTELANDS: rught side, do a series of wall runs and wall jumps in those little oppenings. Once you get to the top the portal is on the right.
After a process of elimination, you should figure out which portal you can get to as of now. COUGHwastelndsCOUGH.

the ps2 PAL version of mortal kombat shaolin monks does not have MKII. To be Kahn just refer to the other pages of this thread.
cheats:
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks Cheats
On the main menu, input the following key commands to unlock characters and modes from the outset.
Unlock Scorpion for Story Mode ... Hold L2 and input SQUARE, UP, L1, R1, LEFT, RIGHT, SQUARE. Release L2 to finalize the code.
Unlock Sub-Zero for Story Mode ... Hold L2 and input SQUARE, DOWN, UP, L1, L1, UP, SQUARE. Release L2 to finalize the code. Correction from dvdknight
Unlock Classic MKII ... Hold L2 and input SQUARE, UP, DOWN, RIGHT, LEFT, R2, SQUARE. Release L2 to finalize the code. Correction from dvdknight
unlock all characters:(not a cheat)
Unlockable Reptile
Living Forest. Go to the section after the Brotherhood Of Shadow. Long Jump across the gap with the tiny waterfall. Go through the door. Now, get the Clay Statues to come to life. Destroy their shield. You only need 1 of them. Now, get one of them over near the Giant Stone Cloumn on the other side of the stream. It's the stone column right near where you entered. Throw the Clay Statue into it! It should come crashing down. Now, return to where the little waterfall was. There is no longer a waterfall. Just a Koin that contains Reptile.
Unlock Johnny Cage
In the wu-shi academy where everything is burning. Go to the very right of the gate and jump onto the roof of the house. Run to the right and jump. If you did it correctly, you will be on a new platform with a boulder blocking your way.
Unlock Baraka
In the soul tomb portal, got to the area where you have to wall climb. You will see 2 paths. One leads left, the other right. The right path has a statue. Use fist of ruin and break it. Keep going and use the long jump ability across the gap and you will get him.
Unlock Kitana
In the MK2 arena level (right before the portal with the two statues in front of it) in the evil monastery, you will see many pillars. Jump on one of them which is half broken and then double jump onto the roof. You will find the secret there.
Unlock Sub-Zero
After taking the boat ride across blood lake, his VS. icon is in back of the lion looking statue to your left (facing the big door), just run along the wall and when you get to the end double jump and its yours.
Unlock Scorpion
In foundry follow the pathway downstairs to the left of the save station. Two archers will bust through the wall. Throw one at the wall to the left of the door way and it will bust open revealing a secret room full of lava and a ying yang on a ledge. Grab one of the archers and throw them in the lava. Then double jump off the guards back to claim the Scorpion ying yang for VS.

Hey, im relatively new to these boards (as you can see, this is my 1st post; lol)
Anyways, I have only had this game for 3-4 days (got it for christmas). I am a die-hard mortal kombat fan and have all the games from MKIII Ultimate.
I am up to Reptiles Lair, the part where you stand on the cirle and the clay statues come out for you to busy. However, I cannot figure out; for the life of me, on how to bust them fast enough.
By the time I've busted the first one, the second one is gone. And from what I have read, they increase in numbers. My question to you, is what is the best method to bust them?
Thanks in advance!
