Where to input codes?

I have discovered some codes on other websites (like gamefaqs) for things like infinite health or unlockable characters but I don't know where to enter the codes. Has anyone been able to enter them correctly? The "X" or "triangle" for the PS2 version ends up selecting something or going back to the previous menu. Any help would be much appreciated!

Can you please tell me what the codees are and where you do them? I think you have to hold r1 l1 l2 r2 and then input. but please post the code.

Well it wouldn't be that hard to find them since I said I got them off of Gamefaqs.com and you know the name of the game (sarcasm, lol) but here are the codes anyway:
Infinite Health: Press Down, Right, Right, X, Triangle, X, Down
Unlock All Characters: Press L1, Right, Left, Up, Circle, L2, X, Square, Down
Please note that I got these for the PS2 version but I don't know where to input these codes. I am beginning to think these are bogus so if anyone knows anything please let me know.

man this game is too short anyway u should play the game like it is and have fun a few days/weeks.. whatever it isnt hard. ~_~

Time to start hacking, I'm gonna try and hack Goro lol, this should take awhile.
Cheats, haven't used them in a while. When you guys find the joys of hacking, you'll see how bad cheats are.

Well I checked Gamefaqs I don't see the codes you posted here. Were exacly do I find them?

Can you really hack?! Please make action replay codes for a character modifier on ps2, I want to play as those characters to dammit. Could you post in my topic when you created something. it's the ''MKSM hacked play as..'' topic.

those codes must be true becase when you hold r1,r2,l1,l2 on the main menu it wont let you select any thing but when you let go you can it must do with those codes and if thats true there are probably more codes.(i think it just r2 you press becase any thing else i hold alone l1,r1,or r2 you can select but when you hold r2 it does) are the character codes regular ones or for super secret ones too?
