i dont know you guys but as a "since mk1 fan" i must say that ive had it, i love mortal kombat but what hapenned? the franchise has gradually lost its spirit, its realism its gore. i would like to get a new mk with the powerful graphics of a ps3 or a 360 but very dark, and very real a mk which characters move in a real way and looks like real persons too not like cartoons superheroes. then again i know that this probably wont happen since midway doesnt seem to know anything about mk and therefore about mk fans(sorry ed boon but you lost your soul). what about that new low production epic looks of the characters in recent games? mortal kombat has lost its rising sun perspective, that martial arts thing that we used to like so much. in the first ones we got a notion of oriental ninjas, black magic and that eerie feeling of something dark going on, now i see a bunch of cartoon network looking ninjas with deformed bodies and too much armor on(superhero style armors) to look like someone trained in the himalayas or deep into the china.
i am curious to know if there is any fan out there that have the same opinion, i know good old gamers must be out there somewhere. i invite em to join in my sad crusade. i hope that midway reps are monitoring this forums so we could get a voice maybe we can work out a miracle.

I agree! We need to lose the "cartoonish" angle, as the photorealism of the early MKs is why they were so appealing to me upon first glance, and continue to be both as a watcher and a player, and it will be interesting to see how many fans show up here and voice their support.

I'm totally against MK/DC too, but the only way we can do anything about it is to speak with our wallets when it comes out and boycott this horrid idea.

yes i think thats it, but actually im afraid that even if they lose our interest, they are apealling to a wider "mom buy me that game audience" and believe me there is some money in those wallets, so they are just forgetting about us,faithful and sadly loyal customers that supported the franchise from day one because they just want more profits, they sold out and shamefully they are getting away with it, they just dont care for us anymore and i think this has been hapenning for some time now, i just wish that they make at least one good game as a farewell to us,id die happy if this happens, just one mortal kombat thats it, a mk that i think weve been whishing to be the next one but it never is.maybe we should call jhon tobias lol.

That sounds like it would be great! Sadly, I don't think it would ever happen. And I agree that they're aiming for a wider audience, since if I'm not mistaken each successive 3D version of MK has sold less well. So they're looking to expand their overall fan base; unfortunately, if younger generation kids either don't know or care about MK, all this is going to do is upset the die-hard MK fans. As for DC, most of their fans are either older (25 and up) or younger (10 and down), so the target audience isn't interested anyway. Most teens seem to enjoy Marvel more, as the glut of Marvel movies have proven. The only DC films are of the same characters who have already been done. I guess we'll see what the future holds.
