I was reading bad reviews of this game and had never bought it until got a chance to get it for cheap. Just finished it, and I must say, I was quite surprised that this game got such bad reviews. I bought it for PC, so can't say for console versions, but I never encountered bugs mentioned in most of the reviews. Maybe that is because I applied patch 1.2 before playing, but the only trouble I encountered with game was that I got dizzy from motion blur, and I couldn't disable it in settings, so I had to disable all post processing by deleting some file (found this solution on this boards).
Other than that, I thought that the game deserves at least a strong 8 out of 10. The plot was quite good, especially compared to Gears of War's. And finally we got what I was expecting for so long - now you can't hide behind a thin wall, let 10 enemy rockets hit it and remain unharmed. The whole game is vivid, and designers really did a great work on it: monsters look great, and every level is different. The AI wasn't the best I've seen, but on highest difficulty fighting enemies finally got interesting.
It seems to me that I just was lucky to have no problems with it, but because of that, I actually enjoyed the game, though a little bit more polishing could have made it a blockbuster. Am I the only one who thinks that game wasn't as bad as reviews stated?

What, no guns allowed? And here I just bought me a rocket launcher..
Anyhoo, I've never actually played Blacksite: A51, so I can't really agree or disagree with your post, Paralich.
Though if I'm ever convinced enough by anyone that it's a game worth buying, I'll get it for sure.

You really have to be a fan of the series to enjoy this game to its full extent. However new users may find themselves enjoying it without knowing about the franchise.
But to me the game was ultimately short , too cheap program and not enough flexibility options to allow the player to conform the detail level to their system.
