Midway's Future?

Notice that Midway will be announcing their financial for this quarter? With recent release of UT3 do you think Midway will be making a comeback? There's still a ton of fan yet the company seems to be digging a bigger hole every quarter. I for one would love to see this company come back from the grave, or am I the only one still reminiscing the good old mortal kombat or NBA Jam days?

I kind of miss the old NBA jam days too but don't miss the old MK i prefer the last ones in general. The suffering was not that great but Stranglehold looks good and along with old classic games like Rampage that could someday like MK be reborn for the good without forgetting UT...
Midway still has good years ahead if they use their time to create strong games, original and/or sequels, like Ut, Mace the dark Age. Wouldn't be surprised to see a KI all by Midway one day too.
I'm confident they might even get better.

You want to know why they are failing?
Cheaters, plain and simple. There is no other explanation.
The day that UT3 was released, there was an autoaim program for it. Gears of War, the Unreal series, and almost every other online multi-player game, has some form of cheating.
I don't want to play against cheaters, neither does about 99 percent of the online community. Because these lamers feel justified in some form or fashion to cheat, they have killed the online community.
Congratulations. What couldn't happen, has. Cheaters are destroying our game time.
There should be stricter laws against these cheaters. Place them in jail for 15 years, and let them feel their own wrath. Give them hell for all the hell they created.
Seriously, I don't give Midway much time before they pull the plug. They have not only lost in the last quarter. They have lost over 379 million from 2002 - 2006.

And I can't see a come back with losing more than 100 million in 2007. Come thursday, I see this company filing for bankruptcy.

I think bankruptcy is a bit too far don't you think. I agree that their finance have not been that great. However you have to realize that UT3 did sell over 1.2 Million copies, and that's without calculating numbers in Europe. Midway as internation appeal and stranglehold did quite well in Europe. THey also have brand recognition, everyone knows what Mortal Kombat is whether you hate it or not. THey will more likely be acquire before bankrupt. Their list of lineup are not too bad as well and that's without MK8 announcement. I think Midway has more credit than you think.

2008 is a crucial year, the year of life or death of Midway.
if mk8,this is vegas and other midwat titles are succesfull midway will manage to survive(maybe using some important licenses like the Suffering 3,ecc),if Midway fails...i dunno ....mabesome other software house will buy MK rights

UT3 is seriously dead. Maybe not for the console but the PC has taken a drastic dive.
As for UT2004 winning all these awards, I see maybe 100 players max on at a time. UT3 way less than that.
COD4 seems to be the top leader for online game playing, besides WOW. Just walking through the shadows in cheating forums, COD4 is the number one game for cheaters.
WOW is littered with gold mongers who degrade the game completely.
My point being, cheaters, whether they copy the game from their friend or use programs to make them better, are killing the PC online community. When does it stop and we start putting harsher crimes on people who cheat.
Take their ISP away. Anyone who is in the anti-cheat department is clapping their hands. They don't have to worry about changing a good game into something worse cause they have to put in anti-cheat code.
IMO - Death to all you Online Cheaters. Ok, maybe break glass rods up under their finger nails.
