Mortal Kombat for PS3?

I am not a fan of DC comics at all, nor of Mortal Kombat going teen friendly. So my question is will there be a good old fashioned Mortal Kombat for PS3? I heard rumors of Armageddon being released for PS3 but can't find any dates or reliable sources.
If mortal kombat wants to cross over it better be with an eaqualy violent game like GOD OF WAR.

If MK/DC tanks (and it probably will because it's a bad idea), then this could be the end of MK maybe.

y would PS3 get an exclusive MK game? plus y would Armageddon ever be released on PS3 or Xbox 360? its a past gen game. oh and if u really wanted a crossover a good one would have been MK vs Killer Instinct BUT, for the same reasons ur MK vs God of War (Playstation) wouldnt work, MK vs KI would be 360 exclusive since RARE is owned by Microsoft

Actually I am just wondering if they will come out with any violent mature audience game for ps3. I am not asking for a special game just for ps3. Much like marvel ultimate alliance did. When I bought my ps3 I took ultimate alliance for ps2 back and bought it for ps3 because it had 2 additional characters and 1080I graphics.
If mortal kombat was to update Armageddon to ps3 (but hopefully with better graphics) so I can save the stupid game to a usb device I would buy it in a heart beat.
Since I am not a fan of mortal kombat for teens, I was asking what other options might be happening. Looks like I will just have to wait until midway gets it's blood lust back.

That sounds pretty nasty too. How about this one? Gargling with rusty razor blades? I know one thing. This crossover, it just seems totally off and wrong to me for so many reasons. I'm really sensing Death of a Franchise here.

Yeah that one sounds appropriate also. MKA and GOW were therapy for me while I had my arm in a sling 6 months. Since I could no longer practice with my martial arts teacher or fight other martial artist, I bought a ps2 and took out all my aggression on those two games. Now I find out my blood thirsty aggression therapy is going to be replaced with goody two shoes in tights! No thanks, I would rather let bot flies feast on my eyeballs.

Yeah, I really don't think this crossover is a step in the right direction for multiple reasons. Midway's been having financial troubles for the past 4 years and MKA had some big flaws despite being a good game (rushed product, cheap endings, generic fatalities, and unfinished bios). To do a game like MK/DC after all that could very well be the final nail in the coffin.

Well I hope not. MK kind of set my violent game standards back in the day. I had a guy tell me heavenly sword was better than God of War. I picked it up and saw "16+" then I put it back on the shelf.

I agree with you guys!
It sucks they are changing things but hey, the world is changing and nothing lasts forever.
I would have liked a real, serious, next-gen MK, but unfortunately I don't make the decisions at Midway.
Anyways, I am kind of looking forward to MK/DC. The concept art they have released so far looks very cool and I wouldn't mind beating on characters from a different world with Scorpion for a change.
