What if there was mode that it is just free for all Kombat just like the opening sequence in MK:A. Theres no real organized Kombat it just free for all Kombat until one side is left standing. That sound like a good idea?

looks like SSBM kind of mode.
It may work.
Or the survival mode of MK 4 where you have one energy bar that don't replenish itself after each combat.
I still prefer some kind of story mode , where you have story bit between combat to explain why you fight again this caracter.

I don't think that's MK's style. If anything, they should bring back the 2v2/4v4/etc. modes from MKT.
