Guys this is exactly what Mortal Kombat needs for people to give a crap again.

Do you know how many people including myself can not wait for "The Dark Knight"? it's only going to be the biggest movie *well maybe 2nd behind Indy4* this year.
You do know characters like The Joker, Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, Bane, Doomsday etc etc are murderous psychopaths? Hell the Joker has killed 1000s of people and laughs about it. If that isn't gritty or adult I don't know what is.

yes but techically it wont be considered MK8 that game will come later this is a crossover game and vs they dont get included. its like MK shaolin monks. if those games were included then MKA would be MK10

Actually you are quite wrong, first of all you have no idea how many people can't wait for the next Batman movie.
Second of all if you read the following graphic novels "Batman:Year One, Arkham Asylum, Batman The Man who laughs, Batman the long halloween" you will find blood, death, drugs, prostitution and all sorts of fun stuff. Not all DC stuff is for children. ALOT of it is but some is for adults only.

But in the DC universe he is pretty much the greatest martial artist who ever lived. So he fits right in.

Well, MrZombay, first of all people appreciate MK alot already and even the poor MKA sold a million. Both MKDA and MKD sold 3 or more million each. Secondly, its a negative... Batman or any other DC character doesn't fit in MK at all.
Like how?
DC characters don't even fit together at that if you ask about fitting. Batman would be crap if in every episode Superman or Flash is with him on each mission. DC's Warlord can't be there for he was way into another time, another dimension... in the mayan past. So a conan-look alike helping robin get his homework done doesn't fit at all, right? Neither would Swampthing fits in removing kryptonite from Superman's a$$...yeah? Wonder-woman fighting hercules in ancient Greece and then living a life of spy with Captain America would be hilarious, right?
Now, MK and DC are two well apart universes. They do not belong together at all, let me ask you that... when Shao-Kahn was invading Earthrealm, why the hell didn't Raiden called in Superman instead of Johnny Cage? couldn't the son of krypton stop the mighty Shinnok in MK4 better than anyone else? Where was Flash when Motaro was stealing people's souls or Bruce Wayne when Shang Tsung invited Earth's finest to his island fortress.
There is just no connection, Mortal Kombat is about self-discovery, and DC universe is about accidently over-charged humans.I have loved DC and Marvel might even more than you, but they just don't get mixed... Chinese Wuxia just can't be merged with Corporate finance. Its like a "god-of-war vs Halo3" game, that would be an abomination.

MKSm was a remake/ adventure version of MK2.
MKM:Subzero is a side story/ pre-MK1/ Pre MK4 Quan Chi
And MKSF who?
Umk3 was a remake of MK3
MKT was a special, that included every character up to that point to refight the MK3 story.
MKgold remade MK4
So in conclusion how would MKA be mk10?
