The DC that most of you probably know involves silly uppety characters for Superman/Batman ala the SuperFriends cartoon or some weak excuse to use the DC License. If that is what MK is going to leverage, then they are on the wagon of fail.
I haven't seen any gameplay yet. So I won't jump to any conclusions.
However, having read the "Batman & Robin" comics that are going on right now, there are some very good, very dark story lines in there (Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, etc...)
Using those characters would be awesome. Every DC character is so raw and uncut it's exciting. That DC Story Arch really goes to the roots of what makes those characters so good. In the same way MK could follow suit and take the story of the characters to their roots, being very dark and violent. If that is the angle they are taking the story, then I am excited.
Sure it would be awkward for Batman and Superman, who have these "vows" not to kill to be pulling of fatalities, but who knows...maybe the DC characters will have a different array of finishing moves not like fatalities.
At this point I sense there are more loopholes for design flaws between the MK world of gaming and the DC rules of superheroes...but we shall see I guess. I am still optimistic. It could really be good.

Spawn would be the only really dark comic book guy that would fit MK. Him and Raiden would go all twisted justice on people and make them run for their lives. But what now, Superman and Liu Kang trying to stop Shao Kahn before he can cover Earthrealm in Kryptonite?

Being a huge MK and DC Fan, this is a dream come true for me. I hope they can pull it off, because if they can, it will be a great game for both DC and MK fans.

I'm a comic fan (Not really into DC that much) and an MK fan, but I don't see this going well at all. I am of course willing to give this game a shot, and it might actually be fun. I just don't think I'll ever agree that this is the direction MK should have gone. Ever. I guess we'll see how it goes.

hhmm "Spawn", for got about him. Your right he is probably the only one that fits into the MK universe.

jesus Christ what is wrong with all you people this is mortal kombat nothing will be different yes maybe just characters from dc but there will still be fatality's and maybe others as well you herd ed boon it will be dark gritter and more violent so don't judge it yet

Mark my words, this is going to be like oil and water. How long will it be before the creative departments of both companies start butting heads over whose characters should feature more in the storyline? You think DC is going to want MK characters performing Fatalities on their guys and vice versa?

The only good thing from DC is Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The rest can go to hell with MK vs DC.

Also witchblade, the Darkness..... In a crossover the characters from image comics would fit in with Mortal Kombat better than kid-friendly Marvel or Dc

i like the idea but why call it mk vs. dc than midway vs. dc and just ride off the success of capcom. like we did with puzzle kombat.
midway = more characters to play as than mk which is 60 or so. and i want to pop some heads as nick.

I disagree the graphics novels, more specifically Frank Miller's are better than the film
