As many have seen or are just finding out now, a very powerful and vivid rumor circling the web is that the next installment into the MK franchise will be a "VS." title game. Something we have wanted for a very very long time. Now it was also brought to my attention that the "opponent group" that MK will be versing is........DC. For those who are not sure what DC is, it's DC Comics, the comic company responsible for the creation of memorable comic book characters such as Batman, Superman and the Justice League. Now, I am not confirming that this rumor is true or not. I am making this thread to ask you, the MK community, that IF THIS RUMOR WERE TO BE TRUE, are you happy with this?
I will also like to add that there might be two versions of the game, this rumored "MK VS DC" one will be for the Wii, and the promised nitty, gritty, dark MK game that was promised will be for the older audience consoles, the XBOX 360 and the PlayStation 3.

Well, I for one, feel it's a time for Midway to one-up Capcom and their new X-men vs Street Fighter game all the kids are talking about...
Seriously, I'd rather see WHAT they make of such an ecclectic mix. I just wonder when SNK is gonna cross with Archie comics.

When I heard of this game, I was furious. But when I heard that the whole "MK VS. DC Universe" was a Wii exclusive, I wasn't as upset because I will still be receiving the "Darker" version of the game on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Though, I am enthused to see what Midway will conjure up with the MK/DC deal.

Of course. I'm still a bit skeptical, but now, sadly, I'm starting to believe it could be true.

hey man i only have the wii (and eventually plan to get a PS3) but it's well known that Midway ALWAYS releases any Mk title later for Nintendo's systems, (at least from GC on). Mk vs. Dc might be real, just remember there are other games that are being presented by Midway and this MK vs. DC might be "one of the others" anyways everyone who site that said they saw the game was "amazing and ridiclously dark" the TRMK site (i think that's it) said it looked amazing or something. Now i won't be pissed off if they make a game like this, you think of ALL the possibillities then this game could be awesome (wierd) but awesome, and to be honest i don't want them to rush to fast on the MK storyline, so a refresher from the main plot on MK would be cool in my books.........so long as they eventually come back to the main plot and all. AND i still don't believe anything till tomorrow so whatever

Well, the supposed reason they are using DC is because they want to reach younger audience with the use of the super hero's. Kinda like trapping the little ones into buying the game because they see Batman, but dont care he is fighting Scorpion, LOL. I think it is clever.

Well if you show a 5-10 year old a picture of Batman or any other popular DC hero, they will know. But if you show anyone from MK, they most likely will not recognize them. Know what I mean?

I was attracted to MKII, much to the dismay of my mother, when I was 11 back in 1995. (The arcade had that, Tekken, Street Fighter 2, and one other fighting game, and of course the other non-fighting games).

Something that just came to thought. Will you be able to do fatalities? I mean ripping a DC hero to shreds with a MK guy or vice versa? Idk how DC could agree to this. I would love to do fatalities with a DC hero but DC doesn't seem like a company to do such a thing with there products.

I wonder if this is the state Fighters are coming to. Are they so unapealing to current day gamers that, without Yoda and Darth Vader, without a Spartan from Halo, Withou Spawn or Link, they don't stand a chance? I wonder if they'll add Shrek to Street Fighter IV...
