For MK: 8 I really want them to make the male fighters thinner. No steroid looking guys.
They need to look and feel like fighters, not just body builders.
Just something that has bugged me a bit.
..Thoughts please :]

They need some more variety, yes, but they also need to keep in mind that people want to play as good looking characters, not frail wimps.

Yes but just think. Imagine you have to choose someone to aid you in your quest for something.
You have two choices.
Sub-Zero looking like he does on that picture
or Sub-Zero looking like he couldn't even lift a chicken drumstick to his mouth, never mind a dumb-bell.

Strength is not only 300 lbs of muscle. There are plenty of strong men than are thin. Being a strong fighter is not based on muscle mass, it is agility, stamina, and flexibility. As well as strength, which does not require your arms to be 50% of your body mass.
Plus it doesn't even look like he could move very well with all that baggage.

That is all true in reality, but I still think that people would rather buy the game with the strong men with huge muscles rather than the strong men who look like average people. Unless they are going for someone that isn't meant to be strong (like Dhalsim from Street Fighter), then I think they should stick to it.

Pick one to help you on a quest.
1.. http://news.axkickboxing.com/images/articles/0/52.JPG
2.. http://healthbolt.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/bodybuilder.jpg
tough choice
lol, I'm just joking around.
I just believe that it would be surprising how cool they would look a little thinner, that's all.

Hah, I would actually go with the first one from those two choices.
But I do see where you're coming from.

I agree as well. Make their build like how the characters were in MK3/4. Why have characters all buffed-up anyways. It does nothing really for the characters/game itself. So ya, tone them down!

They should just find people who look ideal for representing a character, and model the characters designs after those people.
For example, Daniel Pesina, who played the ninjas in MK2. Pictures could be taken and the character designers could base their character on him. I don't like mentioning Daniel Pesina, but it was the only name I could think of at the moment. Damn, I hate him...

Interesting, I have been thinking about the same thing. How games are getting out of hand with the character models. All the male characters look like they couldn't fit in a booth a Denny's and all the females are wearing less clothing and the breast keep getting larger and larger. Not to sound like a loser but video games as a whole should have a little "realistic" aproach to creating these character models. MK8 will be darker and a little more real I assume, so the characters should look the part. The only Human character that should be so large is Jax, and that's because he's Jax.

The truth is, video games like MK are fantasy. People like to look at attractive bodies. That's why men are generally ripped and women tend to have large breasts and everyone wears sexy outfits. GO AMERICA!
