Mortal Kombat (MK) 8 (working title) is an upcoming scheduled release from Midway Games in the Mortal Kombat series. It is expected to follow the events of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Epic Games reports that the game is using their Unreal Engine 3 and is being developed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.[1]
According to an interview with Ed Boon, many new fighters will be introduced, and only few "old" characters will return.
Epic Games also lists Mortal Kombat 8 for the PC; however, this claim has been confirmed by the MK production team to be false.[2] A Wii version of the game has not been announced as of yet.
Ed Boon's (Mortal Kombat games producer) personal website, noob.com, is most likely the site for the Mortal Kombat 8 unveiling, which may have the first news for the highly anticipated game. At the moment there is a countdown time labeled "ANSWERS" which will count down until some time in mid-April when all may be revealed.
