I'd say more than half the roster of MK Armageddon has died at least once. When Ed Boon was talking about "wrapping things up" he was talking about storylines and such. MK8 might only have a few of the original MK characters, but if you look at the past, nobody stays dead in MK for long.
My only problem with him even thinking about not having Scorpion nor Sub-Zero in a future game (if he's considering that at all), is the fact that they already tried that in MK3, and the fans didn't exactly eat that one up as they did MKII. Sub-Zero being unmasked, and Scorpion being absent pissed quite a few people off.
But you can't please all the fans, I know. Look how many characters Armageddon has. They can't just keep adding to that, it's impossible.
Personally I think the idea of attempting to "change" Mortal Kombat into something that it's not is NOT a good idea. They could fix the controls, and tuch up the graphics a bit, but introducing totally new characters and not focusing on fan favorites... not a good idea... I mean look at the new characters from MKDA and Deception. With a few exceptions, they were just dreadful.
If MK8 came out and contained only classic characters from like MK1 through MK3 or MK4, I'd buy it. If MK8 is going to have like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and 18 or so new characters... nah. That wouldn't be a good idea IMO.
Armageddon contains no "new" characters and I'm totally psyched about it. Stick with what works. Don't fix what isn't broken.
I'm not against slight changes, but the core of MK should remain.

That is a very good point which is kinda wut i am saying...Tho Boon is adding a couple of the fan favorites is not a good think at all...While ppl have they're favorite player in MK8 wut about the other ppl who luv Reptile?Mileena?Jax?Not everone likes the same exact character. Look at me I luv all the MK ppl. I like the MK series just the way it is...I've been playin MK since i was 2 years old.Now all of the sudden they wanna change the series...This is not good at all!

i know i mean i liked mk to mk4 because they stayed with the originals but with mk 5 and 6 they added i hole bunch of nobodys im not saying i did not like mk5 and 6 mk 6 was my favorite yet. but when mk7 comes out im gone a love that game its what everyone wants MKT2.

if the MK after MK7 is basically new characters and MK7 is the end of this story, how will the next story go? is it just gonna be new bosses and new fighters basically having the same story where one champion defeats the bad guy? and if they are only going to bring back some characters, are they just gonna kill the other ones? how can you kill like 30-40 characters in one game?
