Perhaps instead of "awards", we should give points to the people who make good threads and/or posts. That would be a better system.

I voted no for the following reason. Any kind of opinion based awards system would cause a lot of upset around the boards, probably more than you realize. I've seen so many instances of opinions causing all kinds of trouble since starting this job. You can't stop people from expressing their opinions (and you should never try), but any form of "Board approved" awards could cause a lot of unnecessary flaming and not to mention the amount of work it would put on the already busy Mods. The whole idea is just impractical in my opinion.
