It would be cool if their was an option to post an image in the 80 x 80 size on these forums. For instance, when you normally post an image on here the default size that it will appear as is 160 x 120. So you can get a good idea of how it would look as an icon, but it would be easier to tell if you could see the image on an 80 x 80 box with the Midway background. Hopefully its clear what Im talking about here, and I think this would make it much easier for admins/users to see how icons will look after uploaded when they look in the submissions thread. Ive seen this on other forums, and you can just type "[icon=]" with the url after the = sign.

If it doesn't work out, another possibility I just thought of would be to paste the icon onto a transparent 160x120 space and post that.

Well it has to be 80x80 to be uploaded. I mean, I know how to test out an icon with photoshop to see if itll looks good against the background, just thought this could make it easier for users who dont.
