K ive noticed lately that alot of people make accounts just for getting on other peoples nerves or to flame the boards.
I had the idea to make another board were users with a certain amount of posts and above could go and not have to worry about these kind of things.
This may limit the number of troublemakers.
I dont know if the mods are capable of this but I was just wondering what do the other users think about this?

The great users have usually posted quite a bit.
Anyway it doesent have to be a drastic number. Just enough to keep the riff raff out, like around 3-400.

Not saying it's a bad idea, but one problem I see with it is users with lesser posts spamming a lot to try to get enough to access the new board. Also, what would the board category be?

Thats one of the reasons I made this thread. Through different ideas from different users we can develope a sutible soloution.

There is a little option over to the side that says: Forgot your password? You click on that, given them your email, then the databases are searched, finding your email (which you needed to give to sign up here), and they give you your username and password. This process takes 5 minutes tops.
If that doesn't work, you create an alternate account which you only use once. That one time is to PM Sheyla about your predicament, she will find your password, and give it to you. This takes much longer, but it's a lot better then idiots making a new username, and saying they're all experienced and $#!+ when they're really some of the dumbest people on the boards!
And if you have a problem comprehending how easy this is, then do what I do: Never log out.

DW I dont, and I agree I hate it when new people talk about how experienced they were, and that they had an old count that got deleted etc.

Another way people could enter the board is through votes. A number of people can vote weather they think the person should be allowed on the board. Of course this would need some Users to already be in the board.

We've kicked this idea around briefly in the past, but it hasn't ever really gone anywhere, for a few reasons. The biggest one is that on forums where I've seen this in the past, there becomes a huge separation between "them" and "us". The "us" being the people on the long-time-user forum, and the "them" being the newer people. The boards then tend to segment themselves even further and become extremely "clique-ish". Groups stop talking to one another, and it hurts forum traffic overall. It tends to drive the new people away, as well, in the end - because the "established" users don't want to talk to the new people, they only want to talk to the *cool* people that have the extra priveleges they do.
I'm still open to having my mind changed, but as of now, I don't think it would be a very good idea.

Sheyla is probably right about this, I would hate for people to be treating new members badly, and trying to exclude them or make them feel unwelcome.
